I don't think FromSoftware had much of a say on it after the RCE vulnerability appeared, as it was necessary to protect players of older Souls games, and ER was close to release.
If anything, going for EAC isn't nearly as egregious as some other anti-cheat software that is out there.

You should generally stick with Valve's normal Proton unless you need GE-Proton for specific fixes.

Or if you want to run games not available on Steam using umu-run. And considering the amount of games that simply aren't on Steam in one form or another, I'd say it's fair to assume you should have it installed anyway, even if you don't use it for Steam games.

Literally nothing of value was lost to Linux, no matter how you try to spin it; that's just how horrible Roblox is to humanity, and it not being able to run on Linux is a boom for parents and children that left or don't use Windows.

I'm a vocal Nintendo and Game Freak hater in general because of this. They rest on their laurels way too often, shoot fans and modders in the leg for even trying to use their IP in fun ways, and then take literal decades to do something barely good with their IPs. It doesn't help their case that Nintendo fanboys will jump in defense of the multi-million-dollar corporation either.
Anyway, Palworld good, Pokémon bad.

They could have done without the whole 'too close to Pokémon' controversy, because it's a legitimate fun game where the sum of its parts is much more fun than it would lead you to believe.
That said, I'm sure they actually calculated this controversy and aimed to have it explode between disgruntled Game Freak fans and Nintendo fanboys to attract more users. Negative marketing is still marketing and whatnot.

Like everything they made since D3, it's a hard pass.
This is not Blizzard making games, but Activision using necromancy to play around with it's corpse.
If I want a good Diablo experience, there's tons of games that satisfy that already, for a fraction of its price in money and time. Thank god we never had a monopoly in the genre.

Thanks for the heads-up! I've been waiting for too long for ID to get rid of that... thing before buying.
And I'm glad Deck users are likely to get a few extra frames and/or a few extra minutes of battery life because of this change.
