HoloCure is a Vampire Survivors clone that's free, really cute and surprisingly fun

Quoting: AnzaBased on the first fifteen minutes, Holocure just cause any addiction for me.
I'm going to assume you meant that to be a negative based on the context from the rest of your post.
From my perspective as a Gameplay Andy, the true 'meat' of most VS clones are locked behind meta progression, so it's rare that you'll have a complete experience of the gameplay loop within 15 minutes - with exceptions, of course.
To remain on topic, HoloCure doesn't give your characters Specials until after you have enough coins to unlock them in the shop, and those happen to be character-defining powers. Similarly, other mutators are also locked behind the shop (with the exception of food buffs, that are locked behind meta-meta gameplay), and most weapons and items are locked behind achievements - as you can see, you are unlikely to experience the current best a VS clone has to give you until you are at least a few hours deep in then. Do with this information what you will.

I see, so what you are saying is that I can never leave the room ever again...

But on a more serious note, HoloCure is the best VS "clone" out there, by far. And because it's not nearly done yet (this is 0.6), we can expect it to become the bestest VS clone out there in the end, and I can hardly wait.

Games are supposed to be fun and this game is exactly that. Also, short and sweet.
I bought the artbook to show support, hopefully they'll keep releasing entertaining stuff for Linux.

You know, we should be less worried in making Linux the next Windows and focus on just making Linux the best there is, even at running Windows applications. Because you should all know by now, the first is a popularity conquest, the last is a palpable victory.
To be fair, I actually love that after getting out of Windows, my machine was truly my own, and even if I couldn't play all the games I wanted, that also mean I was less prone to buy games on pre-orders or at launch unless I REALLY wanted to support said developer, since Wine/Proton are not perfect.

Now... If both Wine and Proton reach a point where they can run the great majority huge chunk of windows executables in a safer environment (I know there are plenty of ways to do it, but what I mean here idiot-proof out-of-box safer), we get the best OS out there. Using a popular OS is fine, having native stuff is cool and being at the bleeding edge of game is something people might want, but me? I just want to be happier using my computer and, right now? Linux is doing a damn good job at it.

Frankly, there's no reason to use the latest and greatest version of Wine is you have a handful of games that you ever play and nothing else and they already run at the speed they are meant to.
...Which is why I expect most serious gamers to use Wine Staging and/or Proton for their gaming needs instead, since they are going to have the latest fixes and speed gains for the most recent games and as qptain noted, having different versions of Wine using Lutris as a launcher is very helpful for the games that only work correctly in certain versions or need a patched wine to work at all.
