I was wondering why no one but Valve and Microsoft made paddles.

Game developers are notoriously awful at anti-cheat. The solution should be to architect the game server to perform anti-cheating checks and generally to avoid trusting the client (see VACNET). Instead we have the lazy way, which is installing invasive software to prevent the game client from being tampered with. I don't want native Linux anti-cheat, I especially don't want an invasive Denuvo kernel module. Just let us play single player and local multiplayer in peace.

Because it's running in an AppImage it's incompatible with Steam in a Flatpak.

Free and open source voxel RPG 'Veloren' has a huge new release out

Also I doubt this would be the first open-source VR game, but why would it matter? Surely we would expect VR to fit the project and made sense rather than for the bragging rights of being first.

Quoting: PatolaI guess that game would feel even better if it had VR. And it would be the first open-source game to do so...I see we are enthused about VR. Yes, it is indeed exciting technology. Consider for a moment though, that perhaps VR is not in the scope of this project? Certainly not every game needs VR to be fun and enjoyable, right? Furthermore, the best VR experiences are the ones built from the ground up with VR in mind, not a game with VR features tacked on later.

Great bundle!
I'd like to add all the games to my library without opening the download page for each one, does anyone have a script to do so?

Quoting: slaapliedjeHey, want to play Ultima Online? I mean if we got a group going on Linux, we'd be the only ones playing. I logged in there a few months ago and it was EMPTY. Monsters everywhere. It wasn't like it used to be where you'd walk near the bank in Britain and the whole game would just crawl. Now days I play the Legends of Aria server called Legends of Ultima, check it out if you haven't already!

I just gave the game a shot and it seems solid. There's clearly still more work to be done in the sound department but the level design suits me just fine.
Quoting: PatolaIt seems to be the same thing that happened to linux distros, suddenly we have it so easy to make a fork that many slightly different variations appear.I believe there hasn't been active development on the original in years. And besides, what you call fragmentation I call choice. It's the spirit of free software and it clearly has positives and negatives but I personally enjoy it overall. That's why I use Linux!
Quoting: PatolaIf only these people used the engine to make something really different - what about a third-person RTS? Or an open source survival horror? - but they try the very same genre of the other initiatives, fragmenting the public.New and unique software from forks happens all the time, but not every time. It's up to the developer where they want to take the project and they have no obligation to change the genre or really do anything except follow the license. You're welcome to make your own survival horror or RTS if you think the Free Software community is lacking in that department of course.

I was a bit too young to play all of the Ultima series, but I really enjoyed Ultima Online. I'm excited to try these classics at some point in the near future.
