Just tried playing a full game on Vulkan and it's pretty much as bad as it was a year ago. On OpenGL 144+ fps, on Vulkan around 40 and sometimes dropping even to 1 frame per 3 seconds. GTX 1660 Ti and i5-9400F. Additionally, I noticed that when I alt+tab out of Dota to other window then Dota starts leaking memory and my system freezes, but only when using Vulkan, it doesn't happen on OpenGL. Seems like I will need to leave Dota when they drop OpenGL.

I am using Manjaro and proprietary driver for NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti. On OpenGL I have 140+ fps (not really sure how many because I limit fps to 144). On Vulkan I have 15-30 fps. The difference is huge and Dota 2 on Vulkan is unplayable for me.
When comes to shader caching: it's not broken for last 3 weeks. It's broken for a year and it was being reported multiple times to Valve on GitHub, they didn't change anything in a year to fix shader caching process leaking memory until the operating system gets unresponsive. And now they want to force people to use it.
Edit. Okay… I just tried Vulkan again and it seems to work much better than 2 months ago, last time when I was trying it out.

Steam not working right on Arch Linux? It's an issue with FreeType and there's a fix

Quoting: GuestI kinda brace myself since some people love to point fingers at things like this and claim that Arch is a bad/buggy/difficult distro. I ran it for many years and something big like this happened maybe once or twice a year and always had a simple fix; it's darn solid. I am pretty sure I had more problems with my distro of choice's last upgrade than my entire Arch days..Lucky you. I run Arch for a few years and it crashes seriously about once a week. Seriously as in: I'm not able to connect to network, run X or run a kernel at all.

When Humble Bundle was promoting DRM-free games people were "meh, what are those shit games I never heard of", when they decided to include more known titles (never DRM-free) then people complained there are no good, DRM-free indies in bundles anymore. Whatever they do people complain.
For me, that's an awesome bundle. Too bad I own majority of games from that bundle.
Also, it's 100% for charity, people. Those developers simply give their games away for free, for charity.

I recommend to not buy the pass until Valve fixes that issue with CS:GO on Linux: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux/issues/2570 [External Link]
You can buy pass but you can't do simply anything with "stars" you earn, you can't buy anything using stars, because CS:GO on Linux throws OpenGL errors.
Edit. OK, they fixed it "accidentally", because they changed UI slightly and now it works on Linux too.

I read somewhere that Goat of Duty is a multiplayer game and almost nobody is playing it anymore, so keep in mind that you may not be able to really play it. Maybe Humble Choice will make people play it more but that doesn't have to be the case.
I hate strategy and adventure games and Humble Choice is full of those genres recently. :( I bought a few last bundles even that I didn't play a single game from them, now I'm finally pausing because it's just too much.

The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Season Two, The Walking Dead: Michonne. I have those games from a Humble Bundle and now I feel bad that I payed for them so little because they are awesome. I used to hate "story-telling" games and I love The Walking Dead series by Telltale Games. I finished two first and I'm in the middle of the third now. I think it says a lot when someone hating a genre loves a game of that genre.
Tesla Force. The continuation of Tesla vs Lovecraft. It's in Early Access on Steam since August, 5th and it's awesome. Many things are not finished but I had a lot of fun playing it. Although, it seems a bit easy, but maybe only because I was playing previous version a lot. In theory, it's available only for Windows, but even that I'm using Linux (Manjaro) I could simply click "Install" button in my Steam library and it installed through Proton. It works perfectly out of the box, no tweaks needed.

Recently I met surprisingly high amount of griefers and that could be the issue. I need to try playing again with that -trusted option, sometime later, because I just finished playing with two team-killers in my team. I played 3 matches today and in all 3 had 2 team-killers in my team.
Trusted Mode is now live for everyone in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

I think I was trying to fix that in all ways possible, GPU drivers, kernel, mesa, game settings and nothing helped. I was asking for help on Steam forum and nobody was able to help me but some people said they have similar issue. That problem appeared after one of the Steam/CS:GO updates, everything was OK, I restarted Steam, some updates installed and problem appeared.

Quoting: aokamiIt's unrelated to this update, but has anyone experienced FPS lag spikes on CSGO ?I'm not sure if I can call that FPS lag spike but I have a similar issue since a month or more. My game is literally freezing for half second every few seconds. I am moving, shooting (I see in demos) but nothing changes on my screen for around half a second. Enough to get killed. Even more, it happens almost always when an enemy appears on my screen, so if anyone jumps out of a corner I'm simply dying, because my screen freezes, I shoot one place but enemy is already in different place but nothing changes on my screen, and I'm losing simply all duels. Unless enemy doesn't notice me until my screen unfreezes.
(Using manjaro+plasma)
It's not a hardware or network issue, it's happening in single player and all other (quite more intensive games are doing fine).

Really solid selection for my taste. I heard people enjoying Void Bastards and Basingstoke and they were on my wishlist.
