Quoting: BotonoskiMan, I really need a proper upgrade, it's been years.
Problem is I kind of have to throw the baby out with the bath water here, I can't upgrade the CPU without getting a new motherboard, and I can't use my current RAM in a new motherboard.
I feel you, I am in the same situation as you.... I would love to try a shiny-moar-cores Ryzen and upgrade to 32Gb of RAM, but my i7-4790k is still doing good job...

Oh, the patience :P

What have you been playing recently? Come tell us what you think about it

I have played a lot of Legend of Keepers lately, while streaming with a friend (taking turn on who launch a new game once a run ends). Addictive game for sure ^_^

Current pile of "Potential next to play coop game", I have been considering Outward, Synthetik Legion Rising, and maybe Wizard of Legend (still haven't played since the patch with the new lightning boss... shame on me).

Legend of Keepers from Goblinz Studio manages to sell over 33K copies in less than a month

With a friend who also bought the game, we stream the game to each other so we can try to make the good decisions together ; even more fun this way !

There are a few balance issues (like invincible combinations), but there are also lots of possibilities, and a nice corporation humour touch, to keep us entertained for a while :)

Quoting: dpanterIf you rather download manually, you'll need to manually mark the binary primal-light-demo.x86_64 as executable before you can run it.
Takes 5 seconds and can be done with any file manager or use the terminal:
chmod +x primal-light-demo.x86_64
Thanks a lot, it worked! I remember trying to execute the files in it, but none of them was recognized as an executable file, I was just asked what should the files be opened with... and I had no clue :S:

Super stylish action-adventure 'Resolutiion' now has a demo open for everyone to try

I tried the demo too, as this game was in my wishlist.

Well, the game is not to my taste... Music is cool, art is okay-ish... but quite confusing. The whole game is a bit confusing too, especially gameplay-wise ("why do the shrooms do...what they do ?" "what's with the cat ?" "where should I go, what should I do next ?")

I removed it from my wishlist, even though I am grateful to the developers for releasing a demo. It is just not for me I guess...

Quoting: dpanterSimple click install and play with the itch.io Linux native client, highly recommend it!
Hm, didn't know there was an itch client... but it needs yet another account creation. I'll think about it

Thanks for the tip !

There was a demo on itch.io, too bad I couldn't find how to install it...

The game looks nice, and I hope the trailer music will be part of the final game <3

Wishlisted :)

What have you been playing recently and what are your thoughts?

My "main" game currently is Elex. 3rd run, this time with the Outlaw faction, which I just joined yesterday after completing the last access quests. Watch your bags and pockets ! :D
I am already thinking about a 4th run, which would include playing more like an Albe, and fighting alongside the Separatists... So much to try in this game !

I also tried the Bad Seed DLC in Dead Cells, one run in normal difficulty for now. Cool new biome, and a few new weapons and ennemies idea which I like :) . I will have to try unlocking the 3rd boss cell difficulty, and it could be that there are new weapon schemes in the higher difficulties.

Also, I tried Darksburg, a "LoL meets Left4Dead" game currently in Early Acces, but is fun to play. And since they are the guys behind Northgard, how could it possibly go wrong :)

Direct3D to Vulkan translation layer 'DXVK' version 1.5.5 is out with lots of bug fixes
1 Mar 2020 at 5:46 pm UTC

Quoting: scaineAs for not being confident enough - as Liam notes, just download Lutris! Install Blazblue using the SteamWine option and in the runner options, you should have dxvk 1.5.5 as the "latest" option by default. I've never downloaded dxvk in my life - I either use Lutris, Proton, or ProtonGE (Glorious Eggroll). So much easier.
I'll have another try with Lutris, but each time I tried to install something with it, I ended up using PlayOnLinux instead. Much easier, and the few games I tried worked perfectly on the first try. With Lutris, I could only end up with the setup.exe being launched again each time I wanted to launch the game...

In any case, thanks all for your advices, I will try tweaking things around

Quoting: mrdeathjrOn dx9 side this dxvk runs more dx9 titles (fix war in north issue, some arc system games issue, mouse issue on warhammer 40000 space marines, trackmania united forever shader 3.0 issue, game of life and others) case:

[...]
Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend
[...]

Sorry in advance for being a noob with all this stuff, but does this means that Blazblue will be playable on Proton, when the DXVK update will be included in the official Proton release ? That sounds great, because currently it is "unplayable" on protonDB [External Link].

(I am not confident enough yet with Linux to try the manual DXVK installation :S: )
