Very very excited about Pipewire. In this aspect, we've been behind Mac and Windows for years now. Can't wait for it to roll out.

Phoronix did a great post here about the FlirC case, which is very good. I have one for my RPI4. I've been using Pi's every since the first iteration, they are great. The Pi4 is a lot more energy consuming than the others though, not great for battery powering but excellent in every other respect.

Quoting: TheRiddickAs a off-topic question if anyone knows, I have a B350 mobo atm and a B550 upgrade coming soon, does anyone know of any issues just swapping mobo out? is there any Linux B550 chipset issues or work arounds I need to know about?Swapping motherboard out is usually totally fine, provided the Linux distro you are running has an up to date kernel that supports that board. I've done this several times before, it's pretty amazing to witness. DO NOT try the same thing on Windows, you'll be in for a mess.

Mostly Everspace, I've almost maxed out the upgrades and then I'll try and do a final run, although on the weekend I gave the more recent Star Wars: Battlefront 2 a whirl. It's not perfect, but definitely playable and fun.
Currently playing through Trine 2 coop as well, that's loads of fun. We finished Trine 1 and had a blast, so it's great to come back to this world.

I bought only Linux native games this time around, although I was definitely tempted by some Proton stuff (hello Bannerlord)
- Horizon Chase Turbo (retro racing - ok but got bored quickly)
- Slipstream [External Link] (more retro racing - ok but got bored quickly)
- Figment [External Link] (whimsical fun platform puzzler with a surrealist theme - recommended)
- Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure [External Link] (EXCELLENT Cthulhu mythos animated point and click...my top purchase, highly recommended)
- Ion Fury [External Link] (retro FPS....bit disappointed, realised this isn't really my thing any more, I'm sure the game is fine though)
- Mooseman [External Link] (interesting northern Russian folklore. I loved Never Alone, and this is in a similar style...looks good)
- Smith and Winston [External Link] (seems fun, can't wait to play local co-op)

EVERSPACE 2 sure does look shiny in the new Alpha footage

I've been revisiting the original Everspace recently and getting back into it, it's really fantastic. However just recently I'm getting a segmentation fault just as the menu appears on the intro screen. I'm running an up to date Manjaro. I'm pretty sure it was a library update that killed it. I've been able to continue playing by forcing Proton and copying my Linux save file across....and the result is indistinguishable from native fortunately. However I feel a bit sad.
