Nice. Been a while since I played this, but it got a bit boring only dealing with dragons and vikings. This update should give things a good shake up.

Yes this "next generation" packaging is really the stone age packaging while rpm/apt is the real next-generation. That said, for games the security issues are basically zero (basically but not to 100%) since few games have open external ports or handle random files/data that you feed it like it is for applications.
lol, I've never seen rpm/deb described as 'next-generation'. I can kind of see it with rpm, but deb is something that deserves to be consigned to history as a terrible mistake that future generations should learn from.

Garry Newman of Facepunch mentions working with EAC for Rust on Linux with Proton

Good news for EAC users. However, given Garry's open hostility towards Linux historically, I won't be buying Rust again even if it works flawlessly with Proton.

Something is giving up the ghost in my PC. It's either the PSU, motherboard, or CPU, but even liveUSB sticks freeze during the boot process, sometimes with an MCE error. Occasionally I'll get booted into my Arch install but it'll freeze before I'm able to do anything productive (like open Steam and play some games...)

Long story short, I'm upgrading to a Ryzen 9 5950X just in time for the next survey. Bye bye, Intel...

'gaming laptop' is already an oxymoron, we're going to need a new descriptor for 'gaming chromebook'.

That and the weekend, probably. :)

I'm hoping it'll get fixed early this week, but if not, I'll be getting a refund.

EDIT: Still no response from the devs, refund requested.

EDIT2: Refund approved.

Once again I'm let down by Steam not letting me know that a game on my wishlist now has Linux support. Good thing GoL is always on the ball.

Further failure by Steam by being unable to add it game to my shopping cart.

"SORRY, WE COULDN'T ADD YOUR ITEM!"
Thanks, Steam. Good job.

I guess I'll try again later.
