The striking-looking number puzzle game Stip is more than meets the eye

You had me right until the end. I dislike hunting for clues on web pages and social feeds, I like games isolated. It does look promising though.

Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

Increlution as a semi idle game.

Silksong but not as frantically.

Dispatch, which is really pretty but requires more attention than I can sometimes give it.

Wildfire is a semi idle tower defense from Itch.

In native and on my Ultimate Duo 2, sprinting is always enabled whenever I climbed into a platform. It made a few scenes brutal until Child.0 got dash and we learned it wasn't intentional.

Switching to Photon 10-4 fixed it and the game has been a lot easier when I'm not constantly sprinting into spikes.

That's a no brainer for me. I like Itch bundles.

I'm not thrilled how Itch went about it, delisting and then telling people half a day later what was going on. That did some damage to their reputation along with the feelings of betrayal and frustration. And the radio silence even on social networks didn't really help. Even a single sentence would have done a lot more.

I like Itch and I know they were put into a nasty position by people (Collective Shout, but there are others) manipulating a system that makes moral decisions beyond the view of the public (Mastercard, Visa). It is also part of the bigger war against adult topics, if you include the age verification laws and regulations being thrown around. And the big question is are they going to do the same thing when more attacks come in?

While none of my games are on Itch, I do have some books. And they have topics states like Tennessee has a problem with (a single sentence of "adult" content qualifies as requiring hourly age verifications), so I'm emotionally involved with how Itch is going to handle the increasingly thorny issue of adult games even after they go through and remove the content that Collective Shout is pressuring against.

I am of the opinion that Collective Shout is testing the waters of what can be done so they know how to further erode options.

The recent SCOTUS decision this week has pointed out that AV is here to stay. The Texas one is $10k/day and has some very squishy limitations (effectively "I know it when I see it") and the various states definition of "what is a porn site" is also highly variable and probably going to get more restrictive over time. As it is written, it seems like even a patron link or a PayPal tip jar qualifies a site as commercial porn site.

Most of the laws seem to be trying to have a more positive signal than "trust me, I'm over eighteen".

It's scary for site owners. Being told the 18+ states that already have some form of AV checks are now enforceable means a lot of scrambling but it isn't the site owner's fault. The UK law is in the same boat, I'm seeing a lot of panic as folks try to cover their rears because the penalties are devastating and as soon as you get that notice, you are already screwed.

Also, AV checks are expensive. More so with popular sites like Nexus. No one wants to do them but apparently it is "reasonable" therefore not infringing on the rights of adults (back to the SCOTUS ruling).

The alternative is to block or ban it (clearly what some lawmakers would like). I only hope there becomes a shared service to do the AV checks will emerge that isn't economically expensive and require reinventing the wheel with each site.

There are some nicer things. Texas has penalties for keeping the day (also $10k/day) so hopefully it won't have as many PII breaches.

Overall, I can see why Nexus would do this. Making a mistake and not doing it risks the entire site being shutdown and financially destroying the site owners in a matter of days.

Steam Beta improves controller support for 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless, 8BitDo Pro 2 and more

I'll have to try that out. I use the single right now but I really would like to have right stick (RS) working in Minecraft Dungeons.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller is a top premium-feeling controller

The Ultimate 2 is nice and comfortable (still just a tad small for my hands).

My own two complaints is using plus and minus instead of the menu and select and that I can't use the right stick button to teleport in Minecraft Dungeons.

I love the texture and the battery life handles our Boomerang Fu marathon nicely.

I love my Ultimate, mostly because it one of the few controllers that is almost large enough for my hands. This will be a no brainer to pick up the two.

... now if I could just find a controller about ten percent larger, my hands wouldn't ache as much. Playing games like Afterimage or Ori gets painful after a while.

The Awesome Games Done Quick Humble Bundle is a good deal not to be missed

I consider Ori and the Blind Forest one of the best and smoothest metrovania out there. The boss challenges are brutal though.
