Fallout 4 And Steam Machine Release Dates A Coincidence? Yes, Probably.
15 Jun 2015 at 10:57 pm UTC

Quoting: PeciskI personally think that's coincidence - or just Microsoft trolling Valve big time (Fallout 4 was featured *very* visibly during XBO show). They also roll out their own DRM, so it might even be that they will deny Steam access to Fallout 4.
But Fallout 4 is already on steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/377160/ [External Link]

Steam Replaces The Linux Tux Logo With SteamOS

Quoting: liamdawe
Quoting: adolsonIt has been this way for a long, long time. Visit Steam in a browser, and it's still Tux.
No it's not, that's your cache keeping the tux icon. Do a hard refresh.

Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth Linux Patch Now Out

I'm disinclined to buying Civ:BE until they add a strategic view akin to that in Civ5. Sure the gfx is nice but I don't play strategy games to admire the views.

Minimon Monster Catcher Released In Steam Early Access (UPDATED)

But the dev's review is just one review. If I'm not sure about the game. I just wait until a dozen or more reviews appear, it's not uncommon that a game has 100% positives out of 1-2 first reviews and then goes to 50% after more people give their opinion. So in my opinion it's good to write an article about a new game, share one's first impressions, give some opinion, but to center the article around the fact that a dev left the first review? Not really.

It's really childish to judge the game based on that a developer wrote a review on it. Especially if you're not even sure if it was a developer's review in the first place.

I just hope he will price it right this time, so that he's not disappointed with sales numbers (not only Linux).

LEGO Minifigures Online Is Not Coming To Linux, Sadly

Liam, you should know better than that. You didn't share your question, so we can only guess how it was phrased, but obviously the person who answered has no idea that Linux=SteamOS or that there is some work going on behind the scenes, or both. Besides, every single PR manager you will contact will there you 'there are currently no plans to port this game to Linux' even if they are already porting it, so that they don't have to clean the sh*t if the port gets cancelled or takes ages.

Glad I didn't buy any not-yet-released-for-Linux games on the SteamOS sale - it makes a whole lot of difference if they are ported by external companies.

14 Steam Machines Revealed At GDC, Some Thoughts

For me, the main reason I never bought a console is because I see them as intentionally crippled pieces of hardware, vendor locked-in and with overly expensive games. I have no problem with paying 2x more for a console-shaped machine that is basically a full-fledged PC, with open system and loads of cheap games. Currently I have 582 Linux games on Steam (and that's not counting f2p games like Dota2 or TF2), it took me a little over a year and a few hundred euro to build that library. I have many games I enjoy myself, as well as several games bought with kids in mind. What would it take to achieve the same on a console? From what I know and imagine, most console owners have just a few "hit" games and that's it. Sure, it may be fun to play Mario Kart over and over again, but personally I prefer more choice.
