I just hope they don't add any new achievements, because I'm done with this one. It was fun, though. ;-) Very good for local multiplayer sessions.

You said all that I was thinking, just one thing to add:
Quoting: TheSHEEEPWhat I don't understand is why the publisher started financing in the first place. My guess is they started before it was announced that Dwarf Fortress was coming to Steam, that's all.
It seems obvious that this never really had a chance of much success. And a publisher should have the market overview to recognize that.

A lot of fun hours spent playing Warlords (I) with the whole family. I wonder if they work in Remote Play Together or whatever it's called. I already bought these ports at GOG, but it's not the same to play alone. Might buy again for online play, though. Lord Bane FTW! :P

Quoting: mallogFor a Linux site, I'm surprised no-one has mentioned this. The adverts will probably be delivered through a specific domain, which can be blocked in your firewall."It looks like you're offline, please check your Internet connection to resume

Quoting: kaimanThe statement is a bit vague, but the way they talk about "many billions of hours spent [...] creating, watching [...] where much of that engagement happens [...] on the bounds of a traditional game experience, [...] advertising has an opportunity [...] of growth for us.", that sounds to me as if the ads will be shown to the people watching on Twitch, not to the guy or gal streaming the game.TBH I understood it more as "if we put ads in the game, they will also be visible on the streams".

Quoting: grigiI've recently been playing Cyberpunk, and what struck me is how they shove adverts everywhere (it's part of the game world, so it's on purpose). It also upsets the in-game npc's sometimes.TBH Cyberpunk was one of the first games that came to my mind. I wonder how people would react if some of these ads/billboards were actually advertising real-life products. Of course keeping within the mood, not Skittles or Always. There are many Cyberpunk-franchised products in the shops (I've seen energy drinks for example), maybe they could be advertised in-game too and blend well? (Sorry for giving them ideas :D but I'm genuinely curious).
Interesting that if you go to the wealthiest suburb alone, there are significantly less adds there,
Also very little ads if you go to dead towns/pacifica.

I don't like the idea itself, but to be the devil's advocate: it *can* be done right. Like Lucozade in Superfrog (the original release) or even whole sponsored games such as Cool Spot (7up), Zool (Chupa Chups) and Global Gladiators (McDonald's). So basically, product placement in games. I don't think people would necessarily mind that. Maaaaybe well-blended-in billboards (although SCS wanted to do that in Euro/American Truck Sims and there was a lot of backlash). But commercial breaks? No way. It shall not pass.

Quoting: Liam DaweNot ready yet, but it's brewing. ;-)Quoting: WYWI first found out about this game when reading about the history of Bungie and the Apple Pippin video game console.I poked the developer, they're looking into it.
I wonder if Luxtorpeda will eventually add support for the native open source engine.

I did play Alien Breed 3D and II, but tbh I liked Breathless the most. ;-) It had the best (cleanest) graphics, which of course came at the cost of system requirements, luckily I had a 68040 expansion.

I remember reading about it in a magazine and wondering why would anyone make a fps game exclusively for Macintosh. Oh well, I had an Amiga back then and I was busy playing Gloom and Breathless, lol. And some Citadel [External Link], too!
