Quoting: kuhpunktDon't know how the price varies in different regions, but that should easily translate into $300 million revenue, maybe even over 400. More than the EGS made in one year with all games combined, lol.Don't worry, Timmy is probably deep in talks to buy the game and move it over.

Quoting: MohandevirAs I did with every other Epic exclusives, I'll wait for the Steam release and then decide.Yes, I also appreciate the work of Year 1 betatesters, a.k.a. Epic users.
This strategy saved me from buying bad games, a couple of times.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySure, the lack of the Linux version makes no sense and I hope it will be added. I was referring more to "someone basically takes an open source project and throws it up on Steam and hopes to make some money". BTW it doesn't really happen that often, usually the releases are done by the project team.Quoting: pbAnd it's a good thing to do--I have no problem with it. But I do have to agree with slaapliedje that it's a bit weird in that there is a Linux build all packaged up, I for one can testify that it works with no issues, so why exclude it from the Steam release? It doesn't matter because I'd install it from my distro's repository anyway, it just seems a bit odd.Quoting: slaapliedjeIt always weirds me out a little bit when someone basically takes an open source project and throws it up on Steam and hopes to make some money, or they don't fully support all the operating systems that the opensource project supports. It was released by the creators of the original game, for free, as a part of building hype for the upcoming sequel.

On Arch there's also
On Arch there's extra/uqm and there are also lots of add-ons on AUR, such as HD textures and remixed music.
Quoting: JarmerYes, it's always been called uqm so if you don't see it, you probably don't have it. You can also look for sc2 but I doubt it will be there.Quoting: soulsourceIf one doesn't care about Steam additional features (like Steam Input, Remote Play Together), it's probably more convenient to just get it via the distribution's package manager. I only checked Debian and Gentoo, but they both have it in their official repositories, the package name is "uqm".I'm on Opensuse Tumbleweed and the official repo doesn't have it, and when I search flathub, all I get is a mod? Is that the full game you're talking about?

Sims-like is a dream game for Paradox, because they can spawn a zillion DLCs, it was just a matter of time, lol.

Quoting: SalvatosYou can already filter by free, I do it often to look for demos and tiny games to wind down without getting into a full game. Thanks, but I meant filtering the library. ;-)

Quoting: EikeThere's more kinds, for example Prologues (a.k.a. the new demos). For me they're all free to play, because I didn't pay to play them. What you're describing as free to play is (for me) freemium. But ok, maybe just add a "free" tag to everything that is free, or add "free" to filters. Fine by me.Quoting: pbOff-topic but it would be really cool if all f2p games had the "free to play" tag automatically applied. I have a dynamic F2P category wherein I have all the games with "free to play" tag, but half of the f2p games are outside of it... Alternatively maybe Valve could add it directly to the filters...In my humble opinion, there's two totally different kinds of games costing 0 bucks: "Free to play" (we'll charge you in-game) and "Gratis" games. How would they automatically tell one from the other?
