Well, Bard's Tale IV has a Linux version just round the corner, so I wouldn't worry about that, but Wasteland 3? Not so sure. At least I haven't backed that one, because FIG didn't like my country, heh.

I said it before and I'll say it again: it's not just about Linux users who backed their kickstarter, but about all backers. People who are going to play it on Windows *now* will still be devoid of the promised Linux version when they decide to switch in the future. So basically they should send out a mail to all up-to-date buyers with the option to get an unconditional refund or keep the preorder under new conditions. That's what banks and mobile operators are required to do every time they change the rules and I think it should be extended to game developers/publishers who pre-sell their products promises.

Quoting: SalvatosI don't get this. Even the SteamOS + Linux tab on Steam's store has a field for the mininmum and recommended OS. For instance, The Long Dark (random example) lists "OS: SteamOS or Ubuntu 16.04 or 17.04" as a minimum. It's pretty obvious that only those are supported and anyone on any other distro who complains about a distro-specific issue can be told that it was always made clear that their OS was not supported. You would think that, but some people don't (want to) accept it and they will still complain that it doesn't work on Arch for example (I have Arch and SteamOS and I am perfectly aware that some games work fine on one and don't even launch on the other, and it works both ways). Then again it's not a Linux-specific issue, go browse some older games on Steam and you will see a flood of negative reviews saying the game doesn't work on Win10 - while sometimes (but pretty rare for now) the game *only* works on Win10 so Win7 users will rage. Everyone wants to play but nobody wants to comply. Bless Valve for Proton. :D

[edit] Just to be clear, the laptop is far from perfect in categories like temperatures and fan noise, what I mean by "perfectly" is that everything "just works" on Linux without much meddling.
[edit2] https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/ [External Link] located in Germany seems to sell Clevos with Linux on board.

Quoting: spayder26It's very sad, for a lot of potential customers, that prohibitive EU custom fees would make really hard to buy anything from USA companies directly.Just find your local or EU-wide brand of Clevo laptops (e.g. Schenker in DE) and you'll get the same hardware. No idea if Pop OS does anything special to these computers, but I have Arch running on Clevo P651 and everything works perfectly apart from the webcam (which in all honesty I never actually tried to make work, currently the system just doesn't see it, might be a question of adding some kernel modules), but including the touchpad (which historically has been my biggest issue with Linux on laptops).

> Anyone who purchased it solely for Linux support does have a right to be annoyed, but can they refund it? Not unless you're within two weeks and under two hours play time.
I think it's still worth a shot, Valve is sometimes flexible with refunds and dropping Linux is a valid reason. I'd try but I bought it from humble store. :-(

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Hitman updates every time there's a new Elusive Target. The current one ends on Monday, so there might be an update then, or when the next one arrives - that might fix the corruption. Disabling Ep.1 Paris might help with dlc1.rpkg, but it probably won't to anything for chunk0.rpkg as it sounds like a major part of the game (but is it? I remember a huge download that added Japanese voiceover, that might as well be this file ;-). Still may be worth trying to disable all DLC and see if that makes the game at least launches.

Quoting: NumericEarlier this month, I took advantage of the humble-bundle sale on Hitman. 10 hours in, I hit an impassable bug with Steam/Hitman. I can't launch the game now because it infinitely states "(corrupt update files) steamapps\downloading\236870\Runtime\chunk0.rpkg" or "(corrupt update files) steamapps\downloading\236870\Runtime\dlc1.rpkg"Ouch. I played 264 hours of Hitman (on SteamOS) and never hit that bug. It crashed once or twice (literally!) but no other problems. Last time I played was yesterday. What distro do you have? It's weird that wiping and downloading again doesn't fix it, it usually works for other games. Have you tried to "verify game files"? Lastly, it might be worth reporting it to Valve, as it might be a corruption on one of their update servers (yes, I noted you switched regions, but who is to say that it really worked?).
I have switched download regions, wiped the entire steamapps folder, deleted the app manifest, re-downloaded the whole 44 GB several times and even added a new steam library on a separate drive. Still the same error. Anyone else run into this? Not to much about it online, except for a few odd posts from other Linux users. Most have the same story. Works for many hours, then update loop. :(

Quoting: LeopardEagerly waiting for Steam Winter Sales. That would be a Proton focused sale season for me.I'm willing to bet they plan to implement the SteamPlay icon for whitelisted games before the Winter Sale (or, who knows, maybe even before the Halloween Sale?), and I'll be sure to buy some of those to show that it makes a difference.
