Quoting: DrMcCoyTechnically, NWN uses (slightly modified) D&D 3e rules, not 3.5. NWN2 was (again slightly modified) 3.5.I like the modified 3.0 because it allows for so much variation and customization in a multi-class build. A lot of that went away with 3.5 in the way of consolidation under feats and such.
And yeah, that pretty dates when those were released :P

The improvements are dramatic. Beamdog puts a lot of effort back into this game and engine. This latest update is dramatic and significant but it follows a string of quite regular updates (the update notes can be found on Steam or their site). Recently they've also updated pathing and many API features.
If anyone is interested in playing again and would like some build ideas this forum is packed with builds, ideas, and information about build mechanics. Tweaked builds aren't necessary for standard difficulty though. I tend to follow build guides loosely and custom fit them to the character. For me D&D is about character development not min-maxing, but a good build template is still helpful as a guide. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/nwnecbguild/ [External Link]

Wow, awesome post RanceJustice. I like how you describe the keyboard community and ecosystem.
I havn't heard of the Dygma Raise. Thanks for that tip. I've been eyeing the Moonlander, but it's very expensive. The Raise looks like it could be a good fit for me as well. There are tradeoffs between the two. Hard choices.
I'm still keeping an eye on this. It could be a good choice for my other family members too.

Need another building and farming RPG? Verdant Village enters Steam Early Access

Do I need another building farm sim? Apparently the answer is yes! I like the high fantasy setting a lot. Both Stardew and Littlewood have a very modern feel. My Time at Portia is 3D with a modernish feel and a Studio Ghibli vibe. Even if it does play a lot like a Stardew clone (Littlewood and MTaP both feel very different from Stardew), the setting and vibe I get from the trailer already makes it feel unique.

I almost skipped this during the Steam summer sale because I think $25 for a very green Early Access title is a lot. I'm very glad I picked it up. It's enjoyable for me even at this early stage and I like the development pace and focus this team shows.

This is great news. I love this series. My only complaint is the games are short and Freebird is slow and I'm impatient. I really want to know where they are going with the story especially with doctors Eva Rosalene and Neil Watts.

Quoting: SolarwingSplendid. Hopefully new developers find a little easier their way to use Vulkan instead of DX12.:smile:Still it seems there are too few games that have been created using Vulkan. Maybe the situation in tomorrow will be different..There aren't that many DX12 titles either, especially considering it's been released about 5 years now. People get attached to their tools and platforms. It takes a lot of energy and time to move that much inertia.

Quoting: Crash83KI wish someone would make a proper mechanical keyboard with an economic layout. I've seen lots of failed attempts at it, but it seems nobody with the means is interested in it.ErgoDox might be an option to check out. They're very expensive, but also very powerful.
I prefer mechanical keyboards, but I prefer my wrists to not hurt even more. Until then, I'm stuck with squishy ergonomic keyboards.
Developers spend far more time typing than using any other input. A decent ergonomic mechanical keyboard shouldn't be so hard to find.
Littlewood is a seriously peaceful town-building RPG out now

Littlewood has been in my library for a while. I bought it last Christmas holiday because it was one of the few games on my list offering native support in Early Access. I appreciate that especially from such a small studio. I'll be starting a new character now that it has released.
Unrailed! is gearing up for launch with a discount before the price goes up

Raising the price for a game that is mainly attractive in coop seems counterintuitive to me. The current retail price ($17 USD locally) seems about fair. I could see them maybe going to $20, but even then that's starting to push it for what the game is and delivers.
I have a few of these "intended for coop" indies and the replay factor should be there, but it isn't, or rather doesn't stick around long. Crashlands, Flash Point: Fire Rescue, Quest Hunter, Hero Siege, and several others in my library sound good on paper, can be fun in coop, but fizzle in the end. There are a few reasons the coop, and game itself, fizzles in the end, but the result is a game designed for maximum replay not really have much of that at all.
