Quoting: EagleDelta
Quoting: sourpuzHmmmm. I like PopOS a lot but I'm not sure about this. Another desktop, especially another Gnome derivative/fork? I kinda think they should focus on other aspects of the Linux user experience, there's enough variety when it comes to desktops. Ah well, I know I'll give it a try sooner or later.
It's not a derivative or fork. Unlike most other alternatives DE's, this is just a pair of GNOME extensions that sit on top of GNOME Shell and can be disabled if you don't like them.

They actually put out a blog post explaining their decisions (based on feedback and polling of their users): https://blog.system76.com/post/655369419513544704/how-we-arrived-at-the-popos-cosmic-design [External Link]

EDIT: Post the correct link
Interesting! Thanks for linking and explaining, I think I'll take a closer look, as I've had good times with PopOS.

Have to run Windows on a separate machine at the moment, I have to use Teams for work and the Web- and Linuxclients lag behind in functionality. So I'm making the best of it by playing some Windowsgames. Far Cry 5 and Victor Vran (which is wonky on Linux) mostly.

Ouch, there's more than one grammar mistake in this trailer. If even a non-native speaker like me picks up on that, it doesn't bode well ... I hope they can iron it out, because I really like the graphics, animation and the voice-acting ain't bad either.

Ah, I love this series. It combines old-school computing and Linux, two of my favourite things. My first Linux-Desktop was an old Pentium-120 I bought off eBay.

Here's a few of the Linux games we're excited to see through 2021

Quoting: Faalhaas
Quoting: sourpuzI'm a bit confused on how to install this
1. Download the right file from the OldUnreal releases [External Link].
2. Extract into a folder, e.g. "OldUnreal".
3. Get your original UT copy (assuming you already own it).
4. Copy the folders "Maps", "Textures", "Sounds" and "Music" to "OldUnreal".
5. Run ut-bin from "System".
Ah, thank you, I somehow overlooked the "releases"-link on the GitHub page!

This looks amazing! Well, not a big fan of the anime characters, but the landscapes and other backgrounds are wonderful.
