We Happy Few, an action/adventure game set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city will hit Linux in Early Access

Oh hello BioShock.

I'll totally buy it though, looks like it has potential for being a fantastic adventure. :)

Razer announces the HDK2 VR headset, will support OSVR and SteamVR

Hm. This is actually really great news. If Vive comes to Linux - and we must assume so - that means we both got a cheap VR-alternative with Razor's here, and the current absolute highend to choose from - and both will support the games we purchase. That's fantastic.

Things I feel Valve need to address to help SteamOS really be something fantastic

I see many of you mention marketing of Linux releases in the Steam client, with front page banners and all that. I don't think that's up to Valve but the publishers, that it is paid advertisement and not just something Valve do for them for free more or less on random. Don't think it's cheap either.

Also I don't believe they should push steamos right now - it's not ready yet. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.
So they are right in keeping it low for now. I just wish they put more resources into making it ready. That's my main gripe with the whole situation.

Wow - gorgeous. Hopefully there's difficulty level "very easy" to choose from, I can totally see my kid want to play this too.

HITMAN looks like it's coming to SteamOS & Linux

Oh dang - at first I thought this was Hitman: Absolution we talked about here. That'd be my highest wish.
But either way, it's in many ways even cooler that we get the very latest releases in this franchise.

Seems Square Enix are happy with the Linux sales so far?

8 out of the 10 current most popular Steam games support Linux

Quoting: KimyrielleI am still waiting for my Linux MMO, though. :D

Have you tried Ryzom? It's quite alright, in my opinion. At least to scratch that mmorpg itch.

Steam Machines are dead in the water according to Ars, not quite
3 June 2016 at 11:34 am UTC

Quoting: Pecisk
Quoting: Mountain ManArs Technica has been down on SteamOS pretty much from the beginning. I really don't care what they have to say.

This. Arc Technica has clear bias against Steam Machines and SteamOS.

Disagreed. They just don't wear fanboy-glasses, nor do they try to hype it.
And there's no reason to, at this point in time. Objectively speaking there really are not much to be excited about. An OS that is not even a release candidate, machines that are nowhere to be seen, game support that's sorely lacking, game performances that are sub-par...

You all really, really must come to grips with the fact that the Steam Machines are so far from ready for the masses yet, it's not even worth promoting. There's nothing to promote.

So if anything, the Ars editor should just consider SteamOS to be so irrelevant at this point in time that it's not worth writing about yet.

Yeah it's a very handy tool when considering a purchase of an online based game.

Quoting: zimplex1I don't buy multiplayer only(or multiplayer focused) indie games. They're known to have short life spans.

This is unfortunately my experience too - with very few (any?) exeptions.

But if this somehow changes I'll be totally ready to join in on the fun.
