The developer also confirmed Day-1 Linux support:
Of course, people should hold off preordering, just in case.
... Also, we don't know how good it will run even if the binaries are there.

I gotta admit, I've never been a wrapper hater or religious fanatic in these things, but with the current joy of experiencing Shadow Of Mordor running natively and smooth on my Linux box I've become a bit more hesitant with all that wrapper stuff.

I may still buy it - and boy did Bioshock Infinite run smooth in eOn wrappings - but Feral has demonstrated it can be done and there's guys out there who can do it. Today.

Initial impressions on a GTX680: Runs like a charm, steady and high frame rate, and the game looks excellent in every way. Another quality port.

And boy - the action! I can so totally see me play this baby for a long long time. As far as I am concerned Linux got a new #1 game.

Only minor thing I find a little bit annoying with the game is that the female player skin isn't used all the way through - the cut scenes and some effects are still using the male model.

Quoting: fabertaweWhat's the performance like with this now? I have an i7-4790K and a GTX 660. I've been hanging off getting it in light of previous reports.
I'm on a 680 and the game runs fine for me now. I'd estimate an average frame rate of around 50 somewhere, and pretty stable. And the graphics are great in this game, easily the best looking open world game on Linux today.

... And that is what you should stop referring to. :)
User ratings are worthless for anything but occasional - and very sporadic - entertainment. It most definitely is not a good source for a game rating.

But we've had this discussion before. I'll just take it as my task to tag the metascore to the articles when relevant! I am nothing but a humble public servant. ;)

What we have here is a bad game that now seeks a source for a few more dollars before they call it the day.
