Still, it could have been so much better. Some of the 3D models looks quite amateurish, and the animations likewise. In many ways this game reminds me of the state of gaming, say, a decade or so ago... As often is the case with lower budget indie games - and understandably so.

Quoting: SamsaiThis game on the other hand has plenty of bright colours and to me that made it beautiful.Ah so you're talking purely from an esthetic point of view, how it would have been "in real life" sort of, and not technical.

But the concept is interesting. And at 85% discount it was worth the money. :)

Graphically it's beautiful. It puzzles me that you think so. That was one of the first thing that struck me, that it looked awfully dated graphically. In fact I expected this to be another Unity game, it surprised me greatly to find out they've used the Unreal engine, an engine I've seen perform much, much better visually in other games. Id even go as far as saying I've hardly seen a worse looking Unreal-based game before.

Wait, do this mean I have to return to scan the Steam Store for new releases again? Dang.
Liam,
good luck with whatever it is that is haunting you. I'll let my (recently started) supporter status roll while you regain strength to carry on with GOL. But you better get back. Soon. :)

ooooh yes, this is the Unreal Tournament I know and love.
Man I look forward to enter the madness again. I sincerely hope this release don't drown in the FPS sea of today.

Leadwerks Game Creation Kit Linux Beta Now On Steam

Quoting: MdeMoUcHYep, I'm using the beta client of steam. Maybe the problem is I haven't leadwerks in my library...I believe he means you need to opt in for the beta of *leadwerks* (the application). You often need to explicitly state that you want to participate in betas, it's done in the property window of that application.

I do however imagine that it looked slightly better on Windows. But that may be my memory failing me, it's been a while since I saw it on Windows. In fact, my Windows partition has not been used in *ages* now - if I need more disk space that partition will be gone. And man does it feel good to say that.

Quoting: STiAT@Beamboom well, it does play pretty acceptable if you do have a good graphics card. The 7xx versions of NVidia seem to be pretty okay, on lower cards you really get low fps.I got a GTX 680 2GB and I would not describe the fps as "really low" at all. It's not 60fps but it really is well within my comfort zone. I'd guess around 30, maybe sub-30 perhaps with a few dips in periods. Not sure. But this is on high settings and I am in no way annoyed by the framerate at all.

A New The Witcher 2 Linux Beta Appears, Improved Performance

So I've finally gotten around to play this game, and I gotta say: For me this game runs just fine on "high spec" settings.
Of course, I don't know how the frame rate is compared to the windows version or other performance issues, all I can say is that it runs and plays just fine, looks good and feels like a working product - only thing is that it always crash when I exit the game. But that doesn't really matter.
I just wanted to mention it, since it so often is hinted at this game being unplayable/broken when this game is mentioned on this site. It may not apply to you.

I need to get confirmed beyond doubt that indeed the OpenGL version is as upgraded as the DirectX version, but if it is I'm onboard to buy it - again.
