Borderlands 2 Also Looks Like It's Coming To Linux, UPDATE: Confirmed

Strange, I always thought it was Feral who did the Mac ports of Borderlands.
But man this is AWESOME news, I've not even finished B2 and not touched the DLC yet - now I'll wait for this version and do it all!

Also, this game seriously is first and foremost a coop game. So hook up with some buddies on this one and do the campaign together. It adds SO much to the experience.

Wow, this is great news. Man how I loved that game, the world and atmosphere therein.
VtM:Bloodlines is one game I've always wanted a sequel to. This will be a great revisit while I wait for that sequel. I'll never give up hope.

Very stylish look indeed, love the artwork.
Also, it sounds like they use good voice actors - that's not to be taken for granted from indie productions either.

For me it's reason alone to buy this upgraded version just to see OGL4 in full effect.

Quoting: adolsonEvery engine has a list of pros and cons, and they are all relative to each other. So if you're going to work on games, you should just research and choose the one that should meet your needs best.
Thanks alot for a very interesting writeup, and also for making me aware of Godot! That one has gone entirely under my radar.

Quoting: GreyArienEmpire is coming over? Hehe LOOOVING Feral Interactive =D
Amen to that, bro'!
There simply is nothing to not love about Feral. Even the community guy over at their Facebook page is totally awesome with his replies.

And after the *excellent* port of Xcom, anything from Feral is an instabuy for me.

Hehe - the difference between user rating and critics rating on this game is just ridiulous and works as the perfect example of what I try to say regarding the reliability on user reviews: 82 critics gave it an average of 80/100 while the user rating is 1.9/10 from 5807 users. Look for yourself by following the link in the article. It comes to a point when one must ask, why bother collecting user ratings at all?

This really is the perfect example of how the average user simply are completely unable to nuance their ratings: They either love something, thus giving it top score and totally overlook anything negative, or if they find something negative they totally hate it and throw a one star at it. There's just no middle ground in the mindset of the average user.

Without having played this game I am sure it's the critics rating that gives the correct picture in this case (as in my experience most often is the case) in that this is very likely a solid game, but not without flaws and minor (with emphasis on "minor" ) issues. The devs probably tries something new with this game with mixed results, but overall an enjoyable game if the drawbacks of this game sounds bearable for you (ergo, read the reviews before deciding on purchase).

Another metascore site, one that saves you all from user ratings, is www.gamerankings.com. Also I like their interface better, probably cause it's focused on game rankings only.

What's unclear to me is what the advantages of this solution are compared to the competitors. Why would a dev choose this over the competitors? Are there technical reasons to do so? Or just a question of pricing?

Anyone know?

Oh, and it's good to have you back Liam. :)

Xcom all the way, baby. That is one darn good production. I dare say the best on Linux as of today.

I've also played some The Swapper lately - a very fine production.
