When it first was launched a few years back it was essentially *slayed* by the reviewers. So I would not be too excited if I were you guys.
Here's hoping some of the more decent Marvel games comes our way too.

It's quite telling when these small simple demos features flawless mouse handling, while finished games made with Unity usually struggle like crazy.
I really, really welcome Unreal to our platform.

Man this is just awesome.
All demos worked flawlessly on my rig, even in windowed mode, and they look mighty good too.
Try the sci-fi scene: You can even read the small words on the poster!

"Linux users typically shy away from any form of DRM, so you can bet there is a large bunch of Linux users who just simply refuse to use Steam."
I don't see how this is of any relevance to anything since the topic here is Linux share of Steam users.
To put it this way; There's plenty of Windows users out there who don't use Steam too - but that's just as irrelevant.

And yeah, I didn't fully understand the purpose of the satellite thingies, nor the hangard with ships either, until things started getting real troublesome.
Oh well I don't mind starting over... Not since Mass Effect 2 have I been this excited over a game!

Quoting: GuestIf you got the feeling like me, after a couple of hours playtime on the original XCOM, damn I wish I had build some more satellite-nexus...:) then I highly recommend to start over WITH the DLC ....because it's the same campaing with lots of more stuff.Oh it is? Man, then I gotta do that! I thought it was a new story, like it typically is with DLCs.

A very good port of a very, very good game.
I've rounded 20 hours now and things are getting a bit hard. But man, what a game. Luckily there is the Enemy Within DLC to start working on once the campaign is over.
Also, the replay value of this game is sky high. As far as I understand the mission maps are randomly generated and the AI is very good so the next play-through will not be the exact same.

Seriously guys, you NEED to buy this game if so it means installing 64bit Linux on your box. You should have done so long ago anyways :)
No but in my not-so-humble opinion this game is safely rooted in the top3 Linux games list, I am having a serious blast with it and it runs like a charm. A little bit screen tearing here and there can be found, but other than that it's silky smooth. But most important: It's just too damn fun.
