Streamed game is not gaming on that pc - it's gaming on a remote pc. If I use Steam Link and play on my Android phone - that is not really android gaming. My phone is just the screen, sort to speak.

So no, I would not categorise streamed gaming as gaming on the client platform - its something else: It's streaming. I think we should make a distinction there.

But if the game is streamed from a Linux cluster I don't see why it couldn't run on a regular Linux workstation?

Six months plus or minus makes very little difference for me. I sure hope this one arrives on our shores eventually, cause it sure looks sweet!

Quoting: garpuHrm. I wonder what this means for 7 Days to Die? You can choose to run without EAC, but a lot of servers require it. (Thankfully, a friend turned it off on hers for me. :) )
We (a bunch of friends at work) run a 7d2d server with EAC enabled, no problems for me playing on that one from my Linux machine.

I am located in the third world and when I need something like that I just order internationally. I pay taxes for the import but even then, in the end it gets cheaper than if we had an authorized reseller. Can't you order internationally from Norway?
True, I can, but the import tolls and taxes are really quite steep, so it adds to the price by many, many percents.
Add to that the fact that computer equipment is relatively cheap her in Norway, so usually the retail prices for high end equipment abroad are higher than our local prices.

It just feels so unreal that there are computer equipment not available in our country. But I guess I should be happy that it's a rare thing. :)

This must have been one of the very first games I purchased on my Linux Steam client. A really good little game, it's a great concept and well designed, both in regards to mechanics and visuals.

... and I just hosted a fantastic LAN-weekend this very weekend with 8 guys playing primarily Rocket League from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. In a mixed network, all three platforms represented.

When I went to sleep Sunday evening I was so, SO glad for Psyonix. And now, three days later... This?!

Fuck.

Quoting: dilavniA high end mobile phone can alone cost this. This has base stations, very advanced controllers and a HMD that incorporates all kinds of technologies. It's custom hardware with a limited market so it's surprising that it isn't more expensive. And I don't expect them to making mad bank with this.
Exactly.

It's in everyone's own right to decide if they want to spend on a set. There are also those who don't want to buy a regular pc either, and buy a console instead. All good.

But hardware costs. And quite frankly, for pc gamers it's not really that unheard of with these price tags on bleeding edge hardware. Just look at the price of the latest high end Gforce card.

Those who complain about prices: check how much two monitors at 1440 rows and 120hz (or even 144) cost in your country. Remember to count two.

And that's just the screens. Now add to that two motion sensible controllers like the ps4 controllers. Two of them. And a headset, and a base station (check price on another base station standalone).

Just do it, just for fun. What did you end up with?
