I love the concept, wishlisted.

Civilization VII gets a mixed reception on Steam, Firaxis say they're listening and put up a small roadmap

Oddly enough, I see something encouraging in these reviews.

Every new Civilization game has an AI worse than the previous game (probably due in part to increasing game complexity). Civ6 AI on launch was absolutely ridiculous.

The fact that it does not seem to be a concern in early access is promising.

And yet the "Labour of love" Steam Award, for games getting regular updates long after their release, went to two years old Elden Ring. Go figure...

Avowed from Obsidian gets a release date, and pre-orders with earlier access if you pay £80

Quoting: EhvisIt'd be nice if this was the case. But considering the numbers, I'm afraid it's FOMO-ing minors more than it's taking a tip from rich people.
I didn't realize that was the target, but I'm sure you're right. This is awful. I'll boycott Obsidian for now. That's a shame, I loved their earlier games.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyAre there people in the world who have the slightest chance of wanting to play Civ V, that don't already have Civ V?
Very young people who discovered the series with Civ6, maybe ?

It would be interesting to know how much the license for a 30 years old game is worth.
Unfortunately, I can't find this information anywhere. They probably didn't (and won't) make it public.

Tried it : it's fun for the duration of the tutorial, and becomes repetitive very quickly afterwards. But I'm probably 30 years older than the target audience.

Immersive idle RPG 'Bloobs Adventure' recently got lots of Steam Deck improvements

Quoting: PenglingTo be fair, "immersive" doesn't equate to "realistic"; Though I'm not sure if this particular game would provide that for me personally (I'm not into RPGs), something fantastical and whimsical can easily be immersive and absorbing.
You're right, "immersive" means that you can picture yourself as being the character you're playing. Things that would help me achieve that are, for example :
  • a humanoid character (or an animal of a species I'm familiar with, like Stray, or yes, even you, Goat Simulator)
  • a first or third person view
  • a world that is similar to Earth, or similar to an SF or fantasy universe I'm familiar with
  • graphics that are somewhat realistic
  • a story in which the character experiences problems or events I've lived or at least heard about

I'm not saying I need all these criteria to find a game immersive, far from it actually. But this game matches none !

So I'm back to my initial conclusion : to find this game immersive requires either a lot of imagination, or a lot of drugs.

They make a colorful pixel-art game in which you play a magic blob, and the first adjective that comes to their mind about it is "immersive" ?

Drugs are bad, mmmkay ?

It looks fun, though.
