If the games remain also available as single purchases from regular stores, on the other hand, I see no problem with Netflix investing in gaming and adding a subscription-based access to a large catalogue in addition to the already existing offer.

How do you feel about Netflix doing gaming? If that means that the games from companies they own will only available with a Neflix accounts, then this is terrible news because Apple, Disney and others will start doing the same very soon and it will almost force customers to subscribe to multiple platforms

Quoting: ArkBlitzTalking about desktop improvements, I'm genuinely surprised to see one specific functionality completely unaccounted for in all Linux desktop environments that is already the standard in both Windows and Android: the ability of checking the notification toolbox after the popup window expires, and being able to activate the corresponding app by clicking on it in the same way as on Windows or Android. As of now, GNOME, KDE and XFCE all have a notification log that does absolutely nothing when clicking on the items, with extremely few exceptions (namely, KDE's notifications for file transfers)You might want to check Cinnamon, it does exactly that. But I'm sure you can find a way to achieve that on other DEs as well.

I installed a distribution with KDE Plasma (Netrunner) on a brand new laptop a few months ago. It was a very good desktop experience, but even with all effects turned off and tlp installed, it was a huge battery sink and I had to switch to something else. Now with LMCE, my battery lasts 3 times more.
I can't tell how much of this issue was directly related to KDE or was caused by this specific distribution, because I changed both at the same time. But in any case, the amount of features in KDE Plasma must have a cost in ressources, even if it's very well optimized. This should be a concern for a handheld device like the Steam Deck.

I installed Mint for the first time today. I had no idea the version I was installing was so fresh.
Really happy with it so far, but I'm not sure if it's related to anything new (except maybe the Sticky Notes app, since I use it)

I can't tell if they are really abandonning the game and just being nice with players who supported it so far, or if it's a devious attempt at attracting more players, only to gradually switch back to a pay-to-win model again once those new players are settled and can be milked more easily...
