I really want to like all these Games (that resemble old zelda or jrpg 2d games from the 90s), including Sea of Stars, Hazelnut Bastille and lot's more, but what bothers me the most is, I don't feel magic in them.
By the look of the trailers it seems they all just have a "boring" real-life-like world, mostly a jungle or forest themed level is shown, with boss enemies that resemble big animals (apes, lions etc.), normal enemies that resemble insects etc.
So all in all I miss fantasy, innovation, extraordinariness.
An interesting looking world, interesting architecture, interesting enemies, teaser for an interesting story that isn't told in 2 phrases and lots more.
But all of that seems to be to much for all these kickstarter developers.
Sry to be so honest, but each time I am disappointed again.
By the way if anyone knows an example for a good game, let me know .
(I know about crosscode, but I like fantasy more than scifi)

Turn your favourite NES games into 3D with 3dSen Maker, for 3dSen PC

Still I would think that it's doable, its just 2D graphics and I don't see much difference to zelda on nes, which runs in 3dsen.
But then again I am no programmer and as it has taken the developer of 3dsen some years to finish this, it might be more complicated than I think it is.

Quoting: dpanterOk, thank you.Quoting: dr_jekyllEven if it was technically possible on some level, it would not be practically nor realistically doable.Quoting: dpanterConverting 16-bit systems graphics in a similar fashion is too complicated.Any further explanation on this?
Higher resolution, color blending, dithering etc. Just think of all the different extra chips the SNES cartridges had. Things like Mode 7 would be a stone cold nightmare. We've spoken about it several times in the Discord and Truc doesn't have plans for any 16-bit system.
The achievement of creating 3dSen in the first place is remarkable. Truc gave some interviews before 3dSen release, one on TechLater [External Link] and one for Youtuber St1ka [External Link] where he basically states '16-bit graphics are too complex'.

Looks interesting, especially the part about the handmade world is a good alternation to the usual procedural generated stuff, but the graphics are a bit too oldschool for me .
Also is there any info about the story?
On steam I only read about different factions and characters you meet along the way.

NVIDIA and accelerated Xwayland gets closer with code that 'sounds unpleasant'

While I understand the whole fight with nvidia (because honestly no one can deny that it's nvidia's fault (closed source, no cooperation, eglstream instead of gbm), or are there legitimate reaons for their behaviour I don't know about?) and thus some prefer to deny support, but as an Nvidia user I would like to see support for XWayland.
So I am thankful for this MR.
My next graphics card will probably be from AMD to support the cause .

Maybe some day this could be used to also improve the graphics.
