AMD Zen looks like it will release at CES in January 2017

I have an fx-8350 and has never showed it wasn't enough. I've always liked AMD and have used it for so long I can't even remember the last time I used Intel for my main rig. My laptops use Intel but they're old and I don't really use them that much. Even though I knew AMD was sort of slipping behind Intel, I've remained loyal...for some reason. If the price is right, though, I would be interested in picking up a Zen. It's all about price, for me.

My triumph in Rocket League and why you need to own it on Linux

Great video Liam. I found myself cheering for you really loud while watching. I'm sure my neighbors heard me. I've played a little but I'm about to order a Steam Controller and maybe the Steam Link (as a bundle) because using a keyboard and mouse just isn't working out for me.

Epic Games founder thinks Microsoft will essentially break Steam in later versions of Windows 10

I've been really disappointed in Epic with the development of Paragon. They used the Unreal engine that was supposed to be cross-platmorm compatible then added proprietary code and now they won't make a Linux version because they don't have the resources to test it and they're not sure they can port that proprietary code to Linux. It's the dumbest excuse I think they can make. So I can't see how they can make a statement like that about Microsoft when they are essentially doing the same thing. Agghhh!

Ballistic Overkill FPS updated, lots of changes and still works great

This update is truly an improvement. I was tired of getting flayed like a fish all the time. I still get sworded every now and then, but now shadow is easier to kill. It's the perfect balance, imo. I'm really getting into this game. I just wish there was a server for west coast us. True, I think the health does spawn too early and I see pretty much everyone agrees with that. Having them in the spawn area isn't that great of an idea, either. This shows that Storm United could have had so much potential.

I bought it and have played a couple hours of it. The swords are too OP, imo, after they upped the damage on it. You run around invisible leaving ghosts of you behind with an over damaging sword. It takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. I do like it, though. I've been on and most everyone had swords. Guys with guns didn't have a chance.

Looks like Rocket League is gearing up for a Linux & SteamOS release now

I remember watching this game on twitch and being so sad it wasn't on Linux. I will be getting this within the first hour of release. I would also be very interested in being part of the tournament.

No More Room In Hell, CS:GO, Codename CURE, Insurgency and Left 4 Dead 2 for the most part.

GOL Asks: What have you been playing on Linux & SteamOS recently?

No More Room In Hell (A LOT). Just waiting for the next update that will address some issues with the Source engine crashing randomly.
Unreal Tournament 2004 when NMRIH just doesn't want to work
The Talos Principle (haven't started the DLC yet)
Just bought CS:GO but haven't actually played it yet
Storm United (when someone else is actually playing)
Dead island

Testing The Latest Unreal Tournament On Linux

This is the only game I'm ever come across that you can't map the numpad keys. I've always used the numpad keys since ut99. It works in Windows but not in Linux. I wish they would fix something as simple as this. I've posted this request in the linux dev forums on forums.unrealtournament.com but they never respond no matter what you post there. The graphic for the main screen hasn't worked for about 3-4 months. Also there doesn't seem to be any preloading of some graphics. The first time I fire a weapon, it will stop for about half a second. It will do that for every weapon and for every different skin that shows on the screen. I think most (if not all) of their work is going into Windows version.
