Is this an official partnership with valve for SteamOS or are they just making their own image and calling it SteamOS? I feel like if there is no official partnering with Valve on this that its probably not going to go as well as it could.

I just gave it a try on desktop and the deck and pretty much zero improvement in any kind of performance from what I can tell, my desktop machine started compiling shaders again after the update but started at 98% and took 15 minutes to get to 100% again. On steam deck still the same 35fps wondering around indoors and any kind of zombies or battle it plunges down to mid-low 20fps range. It is good they are fixing the bugs but seems like any chance of this game working well on the deck is still far off.

Quoting: ArdjeIt's good that it's now marked unsupported, but it should mark it's unsupported on PC in general, as I get the idea from those that play on windows that it just plain sucks. And it sucks so hard that Naughty Dog apologized for the current state it is in.

I did a full play through on Linux and while there were some minor bugs and crashes, the only really bad thing is the super long shader compile, but otherwise I really enjoyed it, sure there were some fumbles and the Steam Deck side of things how valve handled it are somewhat inexcusable, the game in general I think is fine, and people really do need to adjust their expectations on the settings, even lowering them down a bit to get bit better performance the game looks really good.

seems like its based on either King James or New King James which technically makes this only 411 years late if its King James version or 40 years late if its the New King James version.

If you want to get the games downloaded from Nile onto your steam deck its quite easy, just use Warpinator to copy over the games after they are downloaded and installed on your desktop linux machine, all the games from Amazon are DRM free and can be easily moved between any machines! I have done this several times now with my steam deck and it works great!
