Another interesting point here is that while the Steam Deck was not listed as an option, of those who picked "Other", the survey saw "44% of them wrote in Steam Deck as a platform they’re interested in".
44% of what? How many chose "other"? The article makes it sound like some significant number, but neither are represented on the diagram.

And TVs, since they're going to be 16:9 rather than 16:10.
Just installed SteamOS on my sofa PC last weekend via Steam Deck recovery image. It actually works pretty great -- the TV is detected correctly and UI scaling works properly. I did notice the wrong aspect ratio on the startup animation, so this is actually great news. :grin:

Exactly! Engineers learn new things all the time. E.g. Android and iOS only came into existence not that long time ago. Platforms come and go every day, and nobody was born with Linux knowledge either.

Yeah. Alen Ladavec was the one that pulled the Linux development there. When he left for Google Stadia, all Linux knowledge was gone.
It's funny how common this is. A company has excellent Linux support, everything just works. Then the one Linux guy leaves, and suddenly Linux is completely impossible to support.

A shame really, because Serious Engine is really an impressive piece of technology, not to mention excellent Linux support.
