Was this even a surprise?

GOG doesn't care about Linux and they only care about DRM for marketing purposes.

Activision has been a dumpster fire for some time now so I don't think Microsoft can make it that much worse, if anything it'll improve.

What?

I don't know how it is with MacOS but troubleshooting Linux is certainly better than Windows. With Windows you get an error code that looks like a phone number that neither you nor Microsoft knows what it means, you got to an MS forum and someone will throw down the same classic list of: 1) make sure you're connected to the internet 2) try turning off the firewall 3) run sfc in cmd. How is that user friendly at all?

Also, try running as administrator because why not.

Linux distros usually have bug trackers, mailing list, GitHub Issues where actual devs can answer. And with Linux if you're willing you can actually dig down and find out what's the problem, even contribute to fixing it.

As GOG struggles, Steam hit a new high of 27M people online

It seems really weird that GOG with their "FCK DRM" philosophy doesn't properly support an open OS like Linux so it's more of a choice for hardcore anti-DRM people and everyone else chooses Steam with actual Linux support.

Epic is fixing this for all gamers.
I cringed. If Epic is the "future" of PC gaming then PC gaming is dead.
Like seriously, I understand that Valve has flaws and that Epic may not be all bad but this Richard guy sounds like a complete Epic shill and Valve hater. If someone was objectively critizing Valve they couldn't possibly put Epic as any type of savior.

Terraria for Stadia cancelled, due to Google locking the developer out

Google is great at coming up with new tech solutions and running systems at a global scale but boy do they suck at supporting their customers. We've seen this countless on YouTube with dubious DMCA claims taking down channels and only after a big enough uproar do things get looked at by someone at Google.

At this rate Google will make the owner of https://killedbygoogle.com/ [External Link] bankrupt because of constantly having to upgrade the hosting plan to accommodate all the dead Google projects lol.

Also, Liam makes a good point about relying on one provider for a lot of things. While it is convenient having one account but the risk of losing everything is too high. At the very least moving your email to a different provider might be good enough since email is used as a recovery method for most services so you could also lose access to other non-Google accounts if Google decides to terminate your account.
