Quoting: MaathSo, what are the 12.5 million doing? Sifting through the morass trying to find a game to play? Or is it, if you have your Steam client open, you are a concurrent user?
Oh god it's turning into Netflix! Our steam libraries have hit critical mass and our predators' eyes can't lock in on any one game to single it out from the herd

EDIT: BTW I also got the survey but it didn't recognize Manjaro ('Unknown operating system')

Quoting: KimyrielleTo say I am not a fan of the F2P business model would be the understatement of the century, so I am not sure. I have yet to see a F2P game that's NOT designed to suck unless you cough up dough and keep coughing up dough. And if developers claim otherwise, it's usually...well...not quite true.

Otherwise it would look interesting.
I have found Path of Exile and Warframe don't suck very much.
Agree - F2P is like voice-over narration in films, most of the time it's a bad sign but there are plenty of great exceptions one can point to. Anyway this isn't the late-aughts, F2P is here and hasn't killed the industry so we can all relax about it :D

Respect to these guys to keep trying new things, revenge of the titans was one of the first great linux native experiences I had, Ultratron was an absolute blast, and I played and loved their two earlier games too. I didn't give Basingstoke an honest shake, and I'm not much of an MMO player so I'm not sure this one is for me, but these guys have definitely done enough for thelinux gaming community to earn our rapt attention.

Resolutiion, a very stylish fast-paced action-adventure made with Godot now has a teaser trailer

I'd say it's more than "inspired" by Hyperlight Drifter... it's a near-identical visual aesthetic. Not complaining, I loved Hyperlight Drifter, and obviously so did these devs.

Hunt down beasts, take their power and possibly save the world in Mable & The Wood, releasing soon

Quoting: tofuheadhmm, ok, it does look interesting. but just looking at the video, "gorgeus locales" .. I don't know, it just looks
pixelated and messy with wonky camera. and without any action, so basicly it's a walking sim?
if it's that, it really should be in modern style, like for example Journey, or Dear Esther and the likes.

I'm concerned that you're right; the environment doesn't look engaging enough to be enjoyable in the way the first one was. But I'm trying to keep an open mind.

Quoting: chancho_zombieok I'm not into space games, but the last one I played was Iron Sky Invasion and space combat really felt awkward with a mouse, so not supporting mouse it's a good decision imho.
Using sc-controller I am able to revert that decision. ;) I like using the touchpad for gaming, judge me.
you monster! XD

I loved the original for the music, writing, and atmosphere. It crafted a dreamlike experience by (among other things)blending a wide-eyed innocence a la zelda with some pretty heavy notes of sadness and despair lurking beneath.

I like that they are trying to replicate the dreamlike quality of the original in 3d, but I'll have to see how well it translates.

Quoting: GuestI haven’t really played them yet, but these games are generally highly rated and on sale on GOG at the moment:
https://www.gog.com/game/hollow_knight [External Link] -34%
https://www.gog.com/game/thimbleweed_park [External Link] -50%
https://www.gog.com/game/darkest_dungeon [External Link] -70%

I also bought Minit which seems like it could be fun, for 5€ or so:
https://www.gog.com/game/minit [External Link] -40%

All the games run on Gentoo 64 bit (ALSA, Nvidia).

Hollow Knight does not recognize my Dualshock 2, ignores non-ascii keys, and has a strange French translation so it’s not ideal, but it’s still playable.
it doesn't matter, you'll still love Hollow Knight!
