As a person with massive elongated fingers and hands which are mirror images of each other, I love both how chunky it looks and it being symmetric. If it shows up on the store tomorrow I'll buy two.

Another example of prior art: Monster Hunter Stories (2016) in which:

Hm... that parent patent reminds me of Summon Night Swordcraft Story (2003), where moving onto water automatically swapped you to using the water scooter. Also that car in GTA 5 (2013) which automatically changes to a submarine.
In other words, I'd be surprised if Pocketpair can't find prior art.

Quoting: officerniceDrives me nuts that the thumb sticks are never next to each other... Anybody got a good recommendation that's more akin to a PS controller but with "xbox" prompts for PC gaming? My brain refuses to translate PS and Xbox prompts #feelsold xDLogitech F310? Seems like the one with the best GNU/Linux support in any case.

What is it with these weird alien distorted gamepads? My hands are mirror images of each other, why aren't these gamepads symmetric? Also: no touchpads, no Steam controller.

Quoting: KeksusExclusive to one Store where you can buy it and then have it forever without any attachment to that store. That's as wide as it gets. Nobody is stopping anybody from just buying it on GOG.Yup, if it's gonna be exclusive to a store then better the one store where when you buy it, you own it.
Valve still waiting on a 'generational leap' for Steam Deck 2 - but it's coming

Quoting: hardpenguinValve I beg you make Steam Controller 2Now that's something I can get behind 100%. If Valve sold a controller that was more or less the Deck without screen I'd buy 3: 1 to use, 1 for multiplayer, and 1 for safe keeping.

Quoting: saturnoyoFYI I can't follow any of those links, uBlock blocks them all.If you really want you can use a throwaway profile, floorp makes that easy by including a profile manager but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle in other Gecko-based browsers.
Internet Archive hit with DDoS attacks and hacked with 31 million accounts hit

Still though, most of the IA's works are a massive benefit to all of humanity and attacking them like this is really terrible. It kinda reminds me of those idiots who glue themselves to paintings to protest climate change, and I wonder if all of them are just false flag operators trying to discredit the cause they claim to be championing. ...Maybe I just played too much Deus Ex.

Quoting: pbI just wonder why did 31 million people need an account on archive.org. Genuinely wonder, because I've been using it (occasionally) for 25 years and never needed an account. :huh:I have an account there because I wanted to borrow a book some time in the past. It's also nice that I don't get the donate pop-up for a while after I donate (you could probably use an extension to hide it, but that's just mean).
Quoting: LoudTechieSince Corona they're actually in hot water about that, because back than they suddenly let everybody at once use these media files(without permission).Yeah, that was SO stupid, and I really hate that IA poisoned the wells and salted the earth when the lawsuit happened. 'Oh no, they're attacking digital libraries, please stop them from destroying digital libraries, all we do is the same as a library but digital, is that so bad?' And meanwhile they're letting everyone borrow the same single copy of a single book they have. So stupid. And them trying to defend themselves with pretending like they didn't do the stupid obviously illegal thing and then getting a ruling that may prevent others from starting digital libraries is just so terrible.
