I probably should try it some time to see if there are any features in it I would like to port to Emacs.

I am also one of the people who prefers the symmetric DualShock layout over the asymmetric layout.

Quoting: basedLoving how the dark blue/purple one looks
Reminds me of the Nintendo Gamecube.

Quoting: gradyvuckovicAs a happy owner of an LCD Steam Deck and using it every night for gaming, to me that's an absolute bargain, if I didn't own one right now, I'd snap that up in a heart beat.
Idem, I got a 'refurbished' LCD Deck and I love it, I've played IDK how many hours of Speed Dreams on it, it's awesome.

No leaving a Steam account in a will after you die according to Valve

Quoting: dpanterI have a feeling they cannot prohibit this in Sweden... but I have another solution, just live forever. Simple un-death hax.
Just a simple iddqd, huh? That's cheating, though, I don't wanna be a cheater...

Latest stable Steam Deck update fixes a boot game mode issue
27 May 2024 at 3:02 pm UTC

Quoting: Liam DaweWhat bug or feature are you currently waiting on being sorted?
I have an issue with my Deck where sometimes the right trackpad is a bit oversensitive to being clicked, it'd be nice to reduce its sensitivity without having to adjust it for every single game. It's a particularly nasty problem to have when trying to input text with the virtual keyboard as I'll get unwanted H's when I want to hit B, or M's before space, or stuff like that and there's no controller configuration for the keyboard.

KDE Plasma 6.1 Beta released with Wayland Explicit Sync support

Quoting: Linux_RocksWhen Kubuntu finally adopts KDE Plasma 6.x, that's when I'm switching from Linux Mint.
I don't know whether Plasma 6 is really ready for prime time yet. I've been using it on both Arch and OpenSUSE TW for a couple of months now and it seems to have issues with remembering window positions and sizes. I had to add a window rule to maximize Konsole despite having 'remember window size' checked in the settings, for example.

They probably should swap the right analogue stick and the face buttons, because it looks really awkward to use.

Fallout 4 is getting a fresh update and will be Steam Deck Verified
12 Apr 2024 at 9:56 am UTC Likes: 2

To date Fallout 4 still remains the only game I got refunded on Steam. I have to commend Valve for making the procedure very painless and easy, even if they had to be forced (by Australia, if I remember correctly?) to offer refunds.

Founder of Baldur's Gate 3 developer blasts publisher greed
24 Mar 2024 at 6:12 pm UTC

Oh pot? This is kettle...

For crying out loud, Larian, you guys are the last people eligible to lecture people on greed. What, are we supposed to think that you calling your D&D licensed Original Sin game 'Baldur's Gate 3' was anything but money-obsessed nostalgia bait to try and squeeze every last cent out of the poor fools dumb enough to trust you had even an iota of respectability? I'm sure that when Black Isle was finishing up Throne of Bhaal they were expecting, no, hoping that some jackass would come around 20 years later to shit out a steaming pile to ruin the masterpiece they spent so much time building up and refining into one of the greatest trilogies in video gaming history.

The nerve some people have, the gall, the temerity, it's unimaginable. What's next, is Jeff Bezos gonna go and lecture people on treating employees humanely and making sure they have decent working conditions? Don't get me wrong, I agree with the core message, but the hypocrisy is staggering.

Plasma 6 lands in Arch Linux, KDE neon teething issues and Plasma 6.1 heating up
10 Mar 2024 at 5:07 pm UTC

Quoting: 14This is sarcastic, right? You don't get anything from a donation. It's not a trade.
Yes, it was a joke. I'm not actually gonna ask a refund on my donations just because Plasma 6 is the worst 'upgrade' since GNOME 3. And hey, I get it: they want new users so if they feel like they have to tell the old users to go fuck themselves so be it. It's fine, I just get irked when that happens.
