I don't like using the left trackpad as a "push" type D-Pad, but you can easily rejigger the stuff to be more pleasant to use. Looking forward to the SC2, it's gonna be great.

Quoting: tmtvlMeh, I'm more looking forward to what AMD's up to. NVidia doesn't support OSS so it doesn't belong on a Linux system.
Games don't support OSS which means that gaming doesn't belong on a "Linux system".
Yes, games are kernel modules, you linux very good indeed. Bravo.

The former Paradox Interactive CEO thinks "platform holders" 30% cut is "outrageous"

When you consider transaction fees the 30% becomes something closer to 20%. Is it worth it? If you don't think so, feel free to put your game on GOG or Itch or BMT Micro.

Actually, do so anyway. You can tell your customers to buy there instead of on Steam to support you. And maybe some of your fans will buy copies on multiple sites.

The pond is growing bigger and the small fries are starting to feel some competition for their food.

If HBS releases another Shadowrun I'm gonna insta-buy, though.

Quoting: DesumSome balk at the utility of leaning Esperanto, but it has been shown that learning it as a first additional language makes learning subsequent natural languages (at least European languages) much easier.
Well, according to J. H. Halloran, "A four year experiment in Esperanto as an introduction to French":

[...]among the more intelligent students, the best success in French was among those who began it immediately.[...]
[...]Those who began with Esperanto achieved a better "passive knowledge" and those who began with French acquired better "active use."[...]
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any research available on the benefits of Esperanto for learning languages that don't fit into the Germanic or Romanic language groups (e.g. Finnish, Vietnamese, Arabic).

Still, for most people who haven't yet picked up a couple of additional languages Esperanto seems pretty easy and useful to pick up, so it may still be worth a look... if this game floats your boat it may be useful.

Quoting: liamdaweWell, Awesome is just a Window Manager, so you're using KDE as your desktop?
Yeah, but Awesome chooses to not follow some of the more cruft-y EWMH specs (only one virtual workspace over all monitors, for example), so my desktop is differently compatible than normal KDE.

C#, huh. A shame, I'd have loved to contribute some code, but if it's C# I can't. Still looking forward to what comes out.

DE, huh... I'm not sure... I'm using KDE with Awesome as my WM, so I'll say Window Manager only, even if that's not right.

Quoting: ShmerlJust bought the game. The sound bug is indeed there and using .so provided by @Avehicle7887 helps. I didn't look closely, but I suppose either audiokinetic have messed up something between releases. It could also be related to changes in SDL, since it's using SDL to open audio devices.

With non working .so it produces such errors:

With the working one it doesn't.

Searching around, it's not the only game bitten by this bug.
I wonder if we can do a git bisect of the plugin to find where it broke... if the thing is OSS, of course.
