Quoting: BeamboomTotally unrelated but:Yeah, indies are neat and all, but most just aren't worth it.
Seeing screenshots like that, and then looking over at screenshots of our indie games... And... Yeah, well...

X2: The Threat. X3 is nice and all, but I love parking my ship inside of a station, it's the little thing that increases my immersion to the point where I just love flying around planning my economic empire.

I'd try it out if it didn't have CSD. Those things are the worst.

even if you're not a Warhammer fanThe Emperor's inquisition informs any and all that this would be heresy and orders those who would hold this opinion to report to their local Ordo Hereticus agent.

Quoting: tony1abDon't reach them. Reach Valve. Reach Proton support forums. Is the game on the Steamplay whitelist? No? Then don't expect support. The whitelist exists for a reason.
They're who, proudly, want to make all the games playable in linux.
They will do their best to make it compatible by fixing things in proton's code by programming, or by making deals with the developers.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker. It's everything I had hoped PoE to be which it wasn't (who knew doing away with trying to keep everything balanced, which failed anyway, would make things fun again?). Still sucks that Unity ruins everything ever, though.

Or you can just watch an LP (but don't read the comments), the entire first act (up to the defeat of the Stag Lord) has no real spoilers and shows a lot of the core gameplay loop but without any of the real awesome moments that you might not want spoiled.

Quoting: SalvatosI have an unpopular opinion I know, but what would you expect if I actually liked PoE better than BG?You might not like the standard Sword and Sorcery setting that resembles classic BG a lot more than PoE's High Middle Ages/Early Renaissance fare, and the world is far less bleak and dreary than PoE. That said, the NPC's are more developed than BG, which is more PoE style, and it has a lot of modern Quality of Life improvements. It doesn't do the BG1, PoE thing where you have to cross map after map to reach new locations and has a travel system that's more like Arcanum or Storm of Zehir, but with a neat camping system that rewards having a party with a diverse skillset.

Quoting: SalvatosThat's interesting to hear. I heard only about the weird difficulty balance/progression. Has that been fixed and what else has? Some facets of the difficulty have been fixed, although I still wouldn't recommend trying to play the entire game on Unfair difficulty unless you're familiar with min-maxing in the Pathfinder system. The biggest bug that's been fixed is the save corruption bug. Every time the developer releases a patch they write a post saying exactly what they fixed, so you can check the news page on steam for an overview. One annoying bug that remains is that a certain creature type, the mites, are missing textures on the linux version. This reminds me a lot of the bug in PoE where there are no cape textures. It's not a massive problem if you make ample use of the tab key in the one area where you find a lot of mites (Old Sycamore).

Quoting: PatolaI've seen quite a few gameplays of that game on youtube and they seemed incredibly boring. The graphics were not very varied, there was too much number-crunching, menus and inventory management and walls of text and too few exploring and questing. I would love to be convinced that it is indeed good, however. It takes a little for the game to open up, but there's a ton of content. My first playthrough took over 100 hours and I still missed like 40% of the game. There will be a lot of menus as it's a P&P RPG system with a barony management system bolted on, which is par for the course for this type of game. If you're a fan of the classics, like Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment, this game blows PoE and Torment: Tides of Numeria out of the water.

I would definitely recommend Pathfinder Kingmaker to any RPG fans, most problems have been fixed, and it's a massively addicting game.
