Buy games from G2A? You should just stop already, tinyBuild lost out on approx $450K of sales

I used to have an online shop selling hardware and software but we closed it immediately after the first hacks/frauds we noticed.
We had it online for like 2-3 years and Lost like 700-800 Euro because of that, not much but it really destroys any plans you have for the future.
So in short I understand the situation and especially if there are a lot of money involved.

Unfortunately as a developer you cant revoke all the steam keys because you will make your fans angry but maybe if developers distribute the keys to less shops at the start and after a 3-6 months period to distribute it to more less secure shops?

I want to blame a bit the developers as well..
We all know the reason why people do this...buying cheaper...
Sometimes or actually most of the developers on their games release date they are demanding extremely high prices for their games.
Lets say for example Planetary Annihilation was like 60-90 Euro on Early access
I find games like that overpriced and ofc I would save my money to buy something else
And yes there are a lot of games that are extremely overpriced for their content.

These overpriced games lead the users to find ways to get some cheap games or at least to find a better way to get the games they want cheaper. Most users they can easily pirated the new game and when it gets cheaper they buy it from a legal store.
if the developers could put a logical price I believe that most of the users would buy from a legit store than to find it cheaper elsewhere or wait for summer sales or bundle games.
Before years ago we had steam Russia Market where you could buy steam games on Russia prices but unfortunately valve blocked cross region trade so you cant do this anymore :P
For example you could buy SteamWorld Heist for 6.52$ instead of 20$
Well steam has some issues with currencies because in some regions some games are overpriced and in some other regions are cheaper.

Anyway lets hope valve will find a way to deal with this but is not actually valves problem.
Is more about the developers and how they distribute their keys provided by Steam.

Even with cheats it took a long time to finish it ...

GOG should have given steam keys as well on every game purchase, like Humble.
Both DRM Free and Steam Key.

In this way they satisfy both DRM Free Fanatics and Steam User fanatics and it will certainly increase their sales.

As for me thats the only reason I dont buy games from GOG and I still dont understand why they are not doing this.

Things I feel Valve need to address to help SteamOS really be something fantastic

Very Nice article however there a lot of wrongs and rights here but I dont have time to analyze everything right now :P

So since I dont have time I would just express my opinion

Now the situation for Linux Gamers is BAD before was Extremely very bad! :P

If I was a fanatic gamer I wouldnt switched to Linux , who the heck would switch to Linux if all the new games are getting released to Windows?

Dark Souls 3?
NBA 2k17?
Watch Dogs 2?
MAFIA III?
Battlefield 1?

I can keep going on ...

All the broadcaster , TWITCH TV Gamers , youtubers etc there is no way that would ever switch to Linux if that is keep going NOT IN A MILLLION!!!
Have you ever saw a Windows Live streamer popular gamer?? they have like more than 8k people watching their shows is not that simple to switch to Linux for a gamer.

You remember the days when people were saying "Windows is for Gamers!" ?
Well that is what Valve is trying to do, turn the tables upside down which is not that simple and make people to say "Dude you still playing in Windows? lol? Linux is for Gamers!"

So in order for SteamOS to succeed the answer is very simple but yet very complicated to be implemented.

Linux is not ready yet for Gamers and Valve knows it better than us. Vulkan needs to get mature, it will need another 1 year at least to outperform Windows. VGA Drivers need a lot of improvements and so many other things need to settle out.
Developers have to release day 1 titles for Linux as well and if Valve or any other AAA company manages to release some titles exclusively for Linux then you will see many people switching to Linux.

So in short :

1. Make it easy for developer to elease all the games at day 1 for Steams OS
2. Outperform Windows FPS at gaming with Vulkan
3. Release exclusive games for Linux even for 3-6 months
4. Improve Linux OS , system, drivers , etc

Torment: Tides of Numenera delayed until 2017, partnering with a publisher

For all off my kickstarter projects I dont mind the delays , they can take as much time they want so as to deliver a quality product something that will worth the wait... :)

I have backed up a lot of games in order that I will have the chance to play it as a Linux user and provide feedback but unfortunately that is not happening anytime soon with almost all the games I have kickstarter so far.
Anyway that is the least to bother me and I really dont have a problem with that.
I have many games to keep me busy so no worries.

What it bothers me the most is that a lot of game developers are developing an early access windows version only so at the end when the game is finished they thing that they will just press the magic button and have all the builds available for ALL OS and consoles instantly ready and working perfectly.
Unfortunately in many cases that scenario was not working as intended and many developers had to spend another 2-3 years in order to port their games to other OS or Consoles.

No Wip Builds for Mac or Linux
No Beta Builds for Mac or Linux
No Steam Early access for Mac or Linux

So I just hope that on the release date they will have the promise builds available....
