The correct way to enable the Nvidia optimisations is
LD_PRELOAD="${LD_PRELOAD} libpthread.so.0 libGL.so.1" __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 %command%

This will give a better result in some cases, and in others be same as the way you did it. Never worse though. :)

I can't remember the source, but it was something to do with extra processes the game might spawn will also be affected by pthread and the threaded optimisations.

Steam Now Has Over 700 Linux Games, What A Milestone!

I have 301 linux games and 155 installed currently. I would say I have 50ish shitters the rest I am very happy with. Out of that 50 though I would say only 10-15 are buggy, the rest I just don't like. So in genereal the ports we are getting are pretty sweet. Although Aspyr have taken it to a whole new level.

Quoting: fleskI have a Windows partition on one of my computers too. I've hardly used it the last couple of years, but it's there until I find a driver for my Epson Stylus Photo PX700W that can handle printing from the photo paper tray. :-/
I got my epson driver from here

I typed your model into the search and it showed they are there.

The site can be really slow to come up sometimes, but be persistant.

Unfortunately I can't edit my own article.
But apparently you can rename the folder
~/3089 to ~/.3089
to make the folder hidden and the game will still work.

Game Saves Are Messing Up Our Drives!

Quoting: dean36963Last time this annoyed me I moved the startup script/binary and replaced it with a bash script.

This script does an "export HOME=/path/to/clean/location" and ran the script/binary that usually gets run, and passes any arguments.

Means you don't need to rely on any devs fixing this.

Steam might clean your script when updating the game though.
I tried that before, it works for a few, but not for most because they don't use the environment variables at all.
