Quoting: ZlopezI don't know why the NVIDIA doesn't help with open source driver and use they own proprietary driver.Look at everything else nvidia does pretty much everything is proprietary gsync, drivers, tools, etc It's part of their strategy to not share anything allow nothing to benefit anyone else than nvidia. And lock customers into their ecosystem.

Quoting: aFoxNamedMorrisAre you serious mate? Ubuntu did not grow into a large user base by chance. Go bitch some where else!Quoting: lelouchWho cares!? Ubuntu was sadly once popular, but was never good (like SuSE). Fedora (Red Hat) is from some importance, leading a big part of linux development.Because plenty of people still use Ubuntu and it's derivatives, myself included.
But folks these endless upgrade cyles and delays for new kernels, drivers, software - you want new graphics drivers faster w/o adding 3rd party PPAs, but still stable: Since a few years now there are Linux Distros with rolling releases - perfect for gaming and time saving

Quoting: BTREI wonder just what it is they're investigating. With their system requirements needing fairly new and higher end Apple hardware, thus limiting the customer base, you'd think that Linux would be the bigger market in comparison. That said, I saw this coming when OSX depots showed up on steamdb but no Linux ones followed. Still leaves me disappointed, bitter and wishing that companies were more transparent instead of no news for months and then bombshells. Was just confirmed for mac :/ on facebook. No mention of linux.

Quoting: neowiz73the old launcher is fine, at least they are keeping it up to date. although I rarely play these days, ever once in a while when I get the wild hair to build something. but that's about it.The default gui framework is swing, i'm not entirely sure what minecraft uses though.
