Are these time exclusive contracts even really legal or is it just a way to intimidate some one with the prospect of a lawsuit. Most people probably would not want to end up with a lawsuit and associated costs that they could loose.

Looks to me like a complete moronic answer, Crytec already has DX12 support in the engine I don't see how a small studio like them should be even concerned with messing with the dx12 implementation. Just mentioning that linux has driver issues is bullcrap sidetracking, only tested on ubuntu 14? which means will would work with 98% of distro out there. Real reason seems to be we don't want to bother with linux.

I find it so hilarious that many studios not only announce but sort of sell (I know that legally backing a product on KS isn't regarded a sale, but still) Linux support, but then build their product for Windows only, without even thinking about how to get it to run on the other platforms they planned to deploy on. And halfway through the development process it suddenly occurs them that they maneuvered themselves into a Windows only corner.

Unprofessional is what it is, if they are going to offer cross-platform support they better maneuver the project in that direction and not base their game around crap middleware/game engines, and then go oh thanks for the money but you know what "NO GAME FOR YOU!".

I guess AMD strategy will be to make a pure powerful CPU without spending allot of silicon making space for a GPU most people wont use in their desktop machine like intel.
