Retro-gaming Linux distribution Batocera 39 released

Thanks for this.

I've just put together a rpi zero 2 and a waveshare zero-disp-7A 7" display. What started off as just a photo frame soon evolved to a retro gaming system.

I tried Retropie, Recalbox and Lakka but none of them was a smooth experince, Lakka not even starting. Came across this article and gave it a shot. Works well out of the box. This will stay as the default.

Time running out to swap your Minecraft account over to Microsoft

I did the migration near the start of all this so my kid could play then they locked my account for suspicous activity after two days. They´ve ignored my emails requesting proof of such activity, just told me I could unlock it by providing my phone number.

Happily playing Mineclone2 with my little one nowadays while my account remains locked.

Humble has a nice looking VR bundle if you need some more games

I just tried again and I had no luck, I got the black screen. This seems to coincide with the dashboard bug. ie. It'll work if the dashboard works.

I get the same with HL:A.

EDIT: Downgraded freetype2 got it working again.

And before anyone chimes in with " you just need to add..." They don't work!
DL wasn't working on Ubuntu 18.04 with Mesa 18.1, but using Mesa 18.2RC made it work (for me and many others, I think). So, try to test it and share your results.
Just tried with the Arch testing packages.... No go.
I'll look into it a bit more, time permitting.

Got this reply from the Devs over at the steam forum:

Quoting: Linux-storma;1368380934274014673Thanks for the port, greatly appreciated. It was mentioned in another post that space ace etc will be getting updated in the following weeks as well, would this include Linux support?
The plan is to continue to correct issues related to the Dragon's Lair build first, then follow up with Space Ace and Dragon's Lair 2 support for Linux. Naturally we're primarily focused on getting things working for SteamOS and will continue to debug. Next build update should be post holiday weekend. Targeting July 7th if not sooner.
Loved these games back in the day..

Sumoman, the hilarious UNIGINE-powered puzzle platformer with physics is now out on Linux
21 Apr 2017 at 3:47 am UTC

It appears to be working a bit better after the update #3. It has finally loaded for me on my HTPC Debian testing system where before it would just run in the background.

Though I do have a white screen in place of graphics.
The work around for the white screen is to add/create .drirc and add the following.
<driconf>
    <!-- Please always enable app-specific workarounds for all drivers and
         screens. -->
    <device>
        <!-- mesa commit b0ff18bd3441ce7f28354686934440a92826eaf8 -->
        <application name="Sumoman 64-bit" executable="sumoman_x64">
            <option name="allow_glsl_extension_directive_midshader" value="true" />
        </application>
    </device>
</driconf>

Next problem is to sort out why it isn't working for the steam controller.
