Quoting: subThe YouTubers who's name I forgot said a) this and b) they were able to count frame rates based on videos which wouldn't have been possible with VRR.Quoting: LoftyI'm sure there is a named rule that goes likeQuoting: HoriBut does the Deck even have freesync? That was kind of my point. Nobody mentioned it and yet it would be an invaluable feature on a device like this.

Quoting: scaineHaha! Apt learned from RPMs mistakes to avoid "RPM hell". This is what makes Linux, all Linux, so awesome. Everyone is "standing on the shoulders of giants".Microsoft made a command line package manager lately... :D
Meanwhile, Microsoft is dragging the corpses of its enemies behind it, becoming more and more weighed down as it progresses. What a couple of months for MS - PrintNightmare RCE, SeriousSAM Local PrivEsc, and most recently now we have PetitPotam Remote PrivEsc. They're just the worst.

I’ve been meaning to do proper releases with binaries built in the Steam Runtime and better documentation for it, but it doesn’t have any customers other than me yet.Joshua, if you're reading this, very please make it shiny and publish whatever you've got up your sleeve to make porting easier!
If anyone is interested in using it to help with your own native ports, please get in touch."

I was then at a conference and I was talking with some people about potentially doing a D3D9 -> Vulkan layer and I was told that it “was a waste of time” and that I “couldn’t do it and should work on something else”.This is how my only open source project ever to be finished (VDR Permashift) came to existence: They told me that those who want the feature are not able to do it and that those who could do it don't want it. Had to show 'em. :D

Quoting: PublicNuisanceSo long as I can attempt to run games at 60 FPS i'll be happy but if I am limited to 30 FPS without a way to change it then that's a huge dealbreaker for me.I read you can choose that.

Quoting: Arcadius-8606Oddly enough, since I moved, my main gaming rig is a Raspberry Pi 4 B - 8 GB and my side machine is my laptop. I placed my laptop in the stats since I could not find a way to put the Raspberry Pi 4 B in. I'm probably the odd man out doing that so no biggie, just thought I would share. How do you run... anything on it? As it's not x86?

Quoting: whizseThough I'm doubtful that there's any big breakthroughs coming. Wine and Proton development usually happens at a pretty sustained pace. They explicitly said they've got stuff not shown yet. I don't believe in "everything", but "most new" would be great already.

Quoting: Liam DaweDo you own a Steam Deck?Quoting: EikeWhere's the "Did you preorder Steam Deck?" question?!? ;)We don't really want to have a question like that up, because it would eventually be null. We need to think a bit more on how to word it and what options to give.
Open to suggestions.
