The "not filled out" box is helpful!

Amnesia: Rebirth is easily one of the scariest and best games of 2020

I had to hop out of the game several times to calm down a bit. The only thing it is not, because it cannot possibly be for most people, is this unforgettable first time, like The Dark Descent was for me and many others.

Quoting: AwesamLinuxWell it will be miserable, for example:
Not at all, here.

Quoting: AwesamLinuxBanking: You would have to switch to a bank that still offers an alternative identification solution, or has manual physical handling of bill payments (at additional outrageously high fees of course)
I'm not aware of a bank that does not have other means of identification. (There might be some, but I wouldn't trust those in the first place. I want my bank "too big to fail".)

Quoting: AwesamLinuxFiling Taxes: You could do it by sending traditional paper work, but that comes at a penalty of getting tax refunds several months later than anyone who signed them digitally.
There's a web app for this, usable with every PC. There used to be a Windows application, also usable with WINE until... I think last year.

Quoting: AwesamLinuxBasically you can still work around not having an electronic identification in most cases, but it is getting increasingly harder and more expensive to do so.
I'm not using my phone for identification and I'm not aware of anything where this would be a hurdle or cost an extra penny.

Quoting: SalvatosThat’s pretty crazy. What do you do if you don’t have a smartphone?
:D
Well, it worked for decades (or thousands millions of years, whatever you want to count). The same still works, at least here.

I didn't buy one for a long time, but finally felt I had to because some people were hard to reach by anything but WhatsApp (and yes, I still wanted to reach them).

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is a huge amount of fun

Quoting: scaineIf I were to dip my toe into the Bridge Constructor world... do I go for this, or Portal. I haven't watched The Walking Dead, so no particular skin in the game from a fanboy perspective. Just wondering which of the two titles is more fun for a noob in this genre.
I can't say, but the only bridge constructing game I ever played was the Portal one and it felt like a good entry. It seems the Walking Dead one is deviating more from the usual formula (the portals don't make a huge difference IMHO), so maybe the Portal constructor is closer to your average constructor.

Quoting: jensWishlisted, this looks (and sounds) indeed really nice. Also very nice to have a scenario involving Berlin :)
Yeah, me too, but the developer explicitly said that it's Neo Berlin, not Berlin. (Quite East Asian, this Berlin. ;) )

2014 point and click adventure A Golden Wake gets updated with fresh Linux support

Quoting: dibzNice that they did this. For a little while I was helping with the AGS engine for Luxtorpeda, but more or less stopped working on it at the time due to struggling with making the build environment work properly on my machine.
I offer a Wadjet Eye game (of their choice) for the person who makes all Wadjet Eye games work with such an environment (usable from within Steam after manual download).

Valve dev clarifies what some of their upcoming and recent Linux work is actually for

(While I'm not optimistic about Linux gaming...)

Quoting: 1xokI think there is a positive attitude and curiosity at Valve. They don't sell insurance and do pure profit maximization. Life must also be fun and have some meaning.

Quoting: amatai1-2% of Valve revenue is still something like 25 to 50 millions dollars. I suppose that pay for a few fulltime employees
But what part of it would they lose if they silently faded out of improving Linux support?
Most people would either continue to buy and play on Linux or buy and play on Windows.
