Of course, from time to time you need to learn something new, but OpenGL should work well enough for such a game. (Should...)

Quoting: Alm888Yeah, sure. :| Those games are "DRM-free" (not really, Steam client is mandatory, no matter what)…... for downloading. Then you can delete it.
Quoting: Alm888until one day suddenly they are not [External Link].Which cannot happen after deleting the Steam client. Or copying the game data away. It's yours to copy around and do whatever you want with it.

I (still) wonder why the Steam Play tag on the title page is display on goldenish backgroud instead of blue like all others though...?

Quoting: Alm888This is great, in theory, at least. No "Proton" tag though.I wondered the same and found it in said article triggering a discussion: Steam Play.

Very nice one, thanks!
Does it have to do with, erm... very recent discussion? If so, you're a quick developer!

Quoting: 14Are you used to seeing a final price before you put stuff in your cart? In the U.S., tax gets added to Steam purchases during checkout. Actually, sales tax gets added to a lot of online retailers now. It became law in my State not that long ago if I remember correctly. At least in Germany, it's law that consumers have to be shown full price including VAT from the beginning (online as offline). (And that online retailers have to pay them, too, which seems obvious to me). The tax part of the price is shown explicitly in the end on Steam.

Hi.That's a competent way of sorting it all out!
You may have suspected something by reading the title, but, surprise… [the competent DEMO] is now available for Linux players!
* Okay, so why didn’t it happen earlier?
Because of the way I handle some key resources and features of the game (including videos and translations), a Linux port always resulted in a sad broken mess of unexpected bugs, compatibility issues and tears.
All those issues required to be identified and fixed one by one, so, with the demo out, I finally had the time (and patience) to make it work. Or at least that's what I think.
PS - Please let me know if it explodes. Will do.

I also have way less time than I used to. I already liked denser experiences before, but I mixed them with 50+ hours experiences like classic CRPGs or Tactics (XCOM, Frozen Synapse, ...), puzzle games (Infinifactory, Talos Principle, ...). Now I bought Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity II and Torment: Tides of Numenera before my money goes directly to MS, with the knowledge I won't be able to play them the next time (until my children have grown bigger).
It seems the industry trend, the big industry's an least, is more like eternal ("service") thin games than dense short ones. But the indie section is serving these needs fine, IMHO.
What I already did before and will continue: I'm only playing of a game what's fun to me, to the extend to giving up on Mad Max because it became just too tedious. In Shadow of Mordor e.g., I played quickly through the second half as I didn't find the side quest interesting enough enymore.

Quoting: MayeulCI've been valuing shorter, more-polished, or denser games lately, as well as the ones that can be picked up and left in place with a long break in between. I guess I'm now a casual? I am even starting to resent achievements :/I find this topic interesting. Dunno, maby it's worth an article on its own? (But then, this needs time as well... :) )
It wouldn't surprise me if the industry picks this as a trend, and starts to favour that kind of games, eventually (if that's not already the case; there seems to be plenty of indies aiming for that niche. Now, I wish there was a dedicated category/gamemode for it).
On the other hand, my trying to complete games on max. difficulty and earn every achievement hasn't helped, I guess. I like to complete games, but that makes them much longer. Well, maybe I need to indulge myself with playing on lower difficulties, and not exploring every area a game has to offer? What's your take on this? Is it better to "rush" trough the main story, and redo the game later if you really enjoyed it? I'm the kind to eat the best stuff on my plate last, but it's not helping.
