Quoting: ageresHave they already ported all previous suggested games? If so, I'd like something that don't work with Wine and DXVK, like Resident Evil 7 or upcoming RE2 remake.Of course not, hundreds have been proposed. I guess it makes sense for them to see if the demand has changed, with recent... developments, though.

Quoting: mylkait works for this title, because they already started it, but why would square enix make a deal about a linux port, when the game works fine with proton and they can also have the linux sells without doing anything? To the best of our knowledge, Feral pays the owners for the right to port and sell, so from Square Enix' point of view, the answer would be: "Why not?"

I've bought Tyranny (Gold Edition), Pillars of Eternity II and Tides of Numenera now. I won't have time to play any of them at the moment, but they are great games for sure and I'll enjoy them some day. I want to give those who are supporting (have been supporting) Linux my money as long as they have not yet been bought.

Quoting: PatolaHave they finally added stream output to this driver? NVIDIA is quite clear that the series 400 is optimized for GTX 20 series, I facepalmed when I saw distros like Arch standardizing on this driver series for all nvidia cards when they would fare better using, say, the 396 series (stream output came first on 396.54.09). Bigger version numbers are not always better. That's very interesting! Did Liam cover that and I overlooked it (totally possible)?

*edit* If the trouble is due to a new Proton version, double trouble is that you cannot set Proton version per (unsupported) game via Steam at the moment (while Valve can, according to the options page). And if it's due to changes in the game, well...

Quoting: TheSHEEEPTrouble is "runs well" doesn't include "will run well in the future". While breakage does happen with native games as well, you're entitled to support in these cases.Quoting: GuestIf something breaks, it doesn't "run well". Run well of course implies no breakage.Quoting: TheSHEEEPYou are fooling yourself if you think there is any practical difference between a game running perfectly via Proton (for example, Dark Souls 3) and game that has a good native version (for example, the last Tomb Raider). There is a huge difference when something breaks, so it's not quite "end of story".
There is no "better" here, a game that runs well, runs well. End of story.

Quoting: ScrollingSquirrelThere are zero issues that can't be solved aside from wearing something on your headAs far as I know, there is: The 3D focal point and the 2D focal point fall apart. (I can look up the optical terms and explanation if needed.)

Quoting: kuhpunktIt seems like you've never experienced VR. Correct me if I'm wrong... but playing VR games with keyboard and mouse aren't really good. Just explain to me how you're supposed to aim, view and turn around with a VR headset and keyboard mouse.I guess you could turn around with your head (games needs to make sure enemies don't come from behind, or have some 180° turning key) and aim with the mouse. You're shown some crosshair. I'm not sure it would feel natural, though, having something in your hand that feels like (parts of) an actual gun would be better.

Quoting: kuhpunktBut you would completely exclude everybody else from playing the game if they don't have this expensive accessorize. That would be nuts. Don't you get that?It might help sell more expensive devices. Nobody knows if it would work out or not.
