But it's not the right mood to post in a gaming forum.

Quoting: Tethys84Sorry, but COMPLETELY disagree with you. That argument is BS and EXTREMELY TIRED at this point. Move on already. You people are so f***ing ridiculous. I'm done with these conversations. I have better things to do, like trying to find reasons to keep living in a world that's completely falling apart more and more every day when I turn on the news.I do get that (later) mood.

Quoting: Tethys84I can't see BG3 having done anything deserving that award. 100% feel like people just vote for what's trending.Well, they did release a native version for Steam Deck. And I guess it won't make them lots of money... (I'm not saying this is the reason for the people to vote for it though.)

My impression is that programming itself is slowly moving towards Linux, and that this movement is not as big in games development (due to obvious reasons), but it's touching game development as well. The case sounds a bit like Baldur's Gate 3 - some developers that are just too much into Linux to ignore it. I like.

Quoting: ShmerlI think there was a free upgrade way from some Windows usually installed with 32 bits until today. Most people do not reinstall their OS if they see no reason. Most people probably never ever install a new OS. (Not sure if the latter applies for gamers as well.)Quoting: Purple Library GuyI'm not sure that is a better question, at least for what I was wondering about. You can run 32-bit Windows on 64-bit hardware, can you not? And quite a lot of the 32-bit Windows out there may be that case, and for that case my surmise applies.Point is that if anyone has 64-bit hardware, all the above is a non issue. They were sitting under some rock if they were running 32-bit OS on it until today.

So, a 64 bit Linux is starting a 32 bit Steam client is starting a 64 bit WOW-enabled Proton which might be starting a 32 bit Windows game?!?

Quoting: tuubiThat's because your package is not a pure WOW64 build. That's up to the package maintainer. 32bit Windows software runs on 64bit (WOW64) Wine without 32bit libraries. You can keep claiming otherwise, but I'd rather you just looked into it if you don't want to believe a random person on a forum.I guess Proton is using that?

Quoting: StellaI thought I read something somewhere about the 64-bit client being unable to launch 32-bit games?I wouldn't think so. Your 64 bit environment is able to start 32 bit Steam, why would the chain break if one more application is 64 bit?
PCGamingwiki says this about the Linux client:
User requests for a native 64-bit client have been denied by Valve on numerous occasions since 2014, purportedly since such a client would be unable to launch 32-bit games.
