Key reseller G2A is being told to clean up their act, or lose AAA publishing deals

Quoting: Alm888Used this method exactly once (so called "wired transfer" via "SWIFT" inter-bank relay system). Man, was it atrocious! On top of 40% commission I had to fill in a lot of papers in English, in the bank where the majority of the employees did not know English and (on top of that) was not trained in SWIFT transactions (they were just pointing towards each other). It took 2 hours and required a trip to adjacent town (in the so called "Main Office", which turned out just an ordinary office but with slightly more experienced workers). Never again!
Wow! Which country is this?

We used to have free bank accounts and free transfers (using forms way back in time), nowadays with low interest rates I pay I think 2 € per month and can have as many transfers as I want. I do them at my own computer. Really convenient and safe.

Question: Is there any interest in me doing a separate site to cover general Linux news?
I wouldn't be interested, but I think this news is so important that it's rightfully on GoL.

About the news:
I'm sad that this puts the end to a possible alternative for mobile phones.

Quoting: cprnIt's our laziness and ignorance that made those frauds possible.
I'm just not owning a credit card, I'm paying cash or via bank transfer. (Had to make an exception for Feral, using my wife's card.) I wonder if this would be possible in other countries, though. Germany seems to be more cash-friendly than others.

Mad Max meets Vulkan in a new fully public beta for Linux, benchmarks and OpenGL vs Vulkan comparisons

Quoting: HyperdriveDumb question: How do I make my Ubuntu 16.04 run with Vulkan instead of OpenGL and is there a negative impact to this?
There's no "instead" (fortunately), you just need to get the right (modern) drivers to support Vulkan.
Which ones depends on your GPU.

Quoting: edddeduck_feralOlliC was talking about the workaround we had to add to the game to avoid issues with the governor on Linux when using Vulkan. Liam mentioned it in the article. We spin the main thread when waiting on the GPU to avoid the governor power saving and causing stalls and pulse/stutters. This is similar to the issue that Serious Sam has.
If I may be curious: Are you in contact with other developers like Croteam?

Quoting: edddeduck_feralOr (more likely?) developers will think we have all these unused CPU cycles now, lets increase the complexity and make use of them! ;) History shows if you have spare cycles people don't make lower powered devices they make more complex games :)
... or just less optimization.

It would be nice to have new reasons to switch to Linux to show to Windows users.

I guess you should put some fat note at the beginning of the article that these results turned out not to be valid with a pointer to the new ones.

Quoting: edddeduck_feralThe engines are completely unrelated custom engines written by two seperate developers. They are not as related as XCOM and XCOM 2 for example.
Vulkan for XCOM, XCOM 2 and XCOM 3 on Linux confirmed! Yay!
