The rule is "Do not do any of the following: Post spam (i.e. +1, 10char, rickrolls)"
These are meant as examples of pure spam that is bloating forums with no content.
"+1" posts of people asking for a port is the opposite, IMHO.
It's potential customers, and thus it's potantially important information for developers and publishers.
So, if you just read the wording, yes, a pure "+1" post would be consideres spam.
If you care for the meaning of the rule, it cannot be considered spam in my opinion.
It's not like say rick-rolling at all.

Quoting: rick01457I may cause some ruffled feathers here but the only thing I see wrong here is this article. Why you are calling out a mod of a steam forum for enforcing rules is simply beyond me. The whole '+1' trend, like Liam mentions, is spam, and publicly questioning the moderation of those forums is a no-go and rightly so.We've discussed this several times here. My opinion is that these post do not qualify as spam.

Quoting: rick01457You mention meraco and accuse him of something you don't actually have any proof of (or at least provide any proof of here) and his response is far more reasonable than your characterisation of him. When I first read about him in a Linux forum, I looked at his last posts and starting actually defending him. Then I went to such a thread and asked him some clear questions. His reactions were trollish. I read more from him over time. He's clearly toxic. He once proudly told that due to his poisoning, such a thread was shut down. Meraco is a troll.

Quoting: Mountain ManActually, the very best way to ensure Linux support is to keep buying Linux games. Developers care a lot more about their wallets than they do their bellies.Full wallets make full bellies. :o)

Quoting: MaCroX95I just don't understand why Windows users have this urge to bombard us on forums...I'd totally understand it if we would be capturing every thread, but man, one thread per game, just how unbearable can this be?

I don't know aout this case, but there has been such a thread where Meraco ignited a discussion which resulted in the thread being closed. His poison does work sometimes. Poor him if that gives him any satisfaction.

Quoting: ColomboIf you want to know how totalitarian society looks like, look at highly moderated place on internet. If you want to know how anarchy, ridden by the loudest (and most stupid), looks like, look at an unmoderated place on internet.

Quoting: Alm888I wanted to ask what you are talking about a second time, as it reads "DRM free. No copy protection. No online activation." to me. Ok, got it: Windows and Mac only on Gog. That's quite strange.Quoting: EikeWhat are you talking about?Honestly, did you even look at that link? Needless to say I visited their official homepage. There is only Steam(tm) widget.

I remember hearing them talk about The Last Tinker (Video, in German [External Link]) back in 2014. It sounded like a bunch of students proud of their first project. I'm happy they developed this well - and are supporting Linux!
It's good to hear they feel it has been success, even though they considered it quite some work. I hope their newest game, very well received in local games media, will do as well as it seems to deserve. While I'm not into Ninjas, I'm looking forward for some Desperados feeling...!
