Nearly 4 years later, Steam still won’t close to the tray icon on Linux without workarounds

Quoting: Shmerl"Closing to tray icon" is actually a bad practice according to desktop design guidelines. "System tray" is a notification area, and not a place for showing running applications. Situation when application is not shown on the task bar (or whatever UI element is used for showing all running applications) and is still running is not correct - it breaks general UI consistency.

There were several articles on this subject.
I disagree. I like my KAlarm, KMix, KShutdown et al running and showing tray icons without full-fledged windows.

Quoting: MintedGamerI think it would be nice to keep the best porter award, a certain company has done an absolutely stellar job for Linux users this year and I think it would be good to recognise and award them
Totally agreed.

Quoting: cprnI sometimes feel like I don't belong here. Did you really, guys, play that many of this year's releases to the point you're comfortable with judging them? My backlog is like... 1998. Literally. I'll start Baldur's Gate somewhere in December.
I know that feeling. But I just vote for what I know. I bought and played those for a reason...

I think they would still have liked the price.
But, whatever...

Congratulations go to Feral!
Keep it up, guys and girls!

Quoting: MyeulCTo be fair, I was surprised that it cost so much in the first place. It's not like the hardware itself is extremely advanced.
It's cheaper than many WiFi routers - and it includes what a WiFi router needs...
