Interview With The Developers Of Cossacks 3, Which Is Coming To Linux

Quoting: liamdaweHonestly, I didn't see it that way. I saw it more as that Steam supports Linux fully, which is what I believe they meant. Rather than Valve directly pitching into help every developer (which would be impossible, they aren't a big company staff wise).
I had the same impression as the others: There's some kind of incentive. Maybe more prominent search places or such. I'd like to know, too, but I'm not sure they're allowed to talk about it.

Quoting: tuubiAccording to a random website, the official vmem requirement for the game at 1080p is 2 gigs for the Medium texture quality setting and 4 GiB for High. 6 GiB for Ultra when the hd texture pack is installed. No mention of the effect of other settings, but I got the impression that this is with at least reasonable AA.
The game states these itself when changing texture quality (box on right side).
AFAIR it doesn't state a resolution, but I guess that only could be 1080p.

Mine is still downloading...
... on Linux, I mean.

I bought Shadow of Mordor today and got 7 hours to go. :)

Don't Be Patchman Is The First Game On Steam To Be Linux Only

Quoting: JayViiThe Steam-Page [External Link] shows Windows Systemrequirements ._.
... and it states it's a bug: "There seems to be a glitch with the store page, it says Minimum Windows System Requirements when it should not."
I thought Valve wouldn't even alow that.

Quoting: edddeduckferalI can say the solution won't be before the weekend given it's 7pm on a Friday night in the UK right now but we plan to email people via support with a status update next week once we have some concrete news to report.
So that puts it at "days". That's what I wanted to know. Thanks.
"Hours" in my humble opinion would be unreasonably fast for any non-trivial problem.
(I'm software developer, and the project I'm involved in couldn't even do a new complete software build in that time.)

One more question: I don't have a controller yet, is it playable with mouse and keyboard as fine as with controller or does it scream for a controller?

Quoting: edddeduckferalIf you buy from a third party and they don't explicitly say they are selling Linux or Mac keys then you've bought a Windows key. Bundle-star for example sell Windows keys.

Doesn't matter where you play the game on third party stores the sale is based on the steam keys they have purchased. Humble Bundle for example have a set of keys tagged as Windows, Mac and Linux and hand out the correct ones based on your platform so that the correct platform sale is recorded.
Good to know, thanks!

Not Feral's problem, but I fear I've got Pillars of Eternity stamped wrong then for buying it as a box. :-(
But it was just so beautiful, buying a Linux game in the store around the corner...!

@Liam: You should note this in your growing list of things to do and not to do to support Linux gaming. :)
