Looks Like Shadow Of Mordor Won't Support AMD Graphics On Linux At Release

Quoting: dubigrasuIf a Linux user like me (using Linux for 15 years) is starting to think like that, what can we expect for Linux gaming in general with these delays?
I totally am such a Linux user (my first Debian CD set from 1998 must be lying around here somewhere), but I feel after about 14 years of no professional gaming (I somehow missed the Loki times), I've got plenty of patience. If we're not able to wait, how could we expect it from a freshmate? And in the end, the game's not going to become more expensive over time...

As long as people know what they face - like, in my very humble opinion, the information who pays for it belongs in every artice about the game - I'm fine with that.

Quoting: StianTheDarkIt's a fun game, and I don't see why it would be propaganda. While loading, the game gives you short videos of american soldiers and how their life is. Of course, it's meant to drive people into the army but I don't really think it's working. It's a really fun game anyway, and I'm norwegian, so it doesn't really matter.
According to MIT research, it has more influence on potential recruits than all other advertising of the american army taken together. China, Rusia and India are adopting the method.

It should be mentioned that this game has actually been financed by the USA and is part of their recruiting means. One could call it propaganda.

Quoting: SamsaiNote the "Linux - Data" depot. VP ports have a shared data depot because they only need the Windows data files. If I had to make a guess I'd say it's either Aspyr or Feral, but it could also be an in-house port.
That would be incredible!
(I really need to start my list of Windows forum users telling that game x or y will never come to Linux...)

Quoting: keikiOne simple fact why I'm currently rarely on my PC. It's hot outside in Germany (30-40 Celsius). And in general it's summer here.
While rain may be keeping you from being outside, sun doesn't need to keep you from being inside! ;)
(And it's too hot outside anyway...)

Quoting: liamdaweWell, I read the bit you're on about and decided to let the author keep it.
I really appreciate that you're publishing opinions that (as far as I know) differ from yours.

Thanks for writing this (long) piece. Is it intentionally anonymous?
I thought about writing about these problems as well, but you are much more knowledgeable about the gaming specialities. Are you in this industry?

Happy Birthday To GamingOnLinux, Six Years In The Making

So GoL has been around when I still used Windows for gaming, although doing everthing else on Linux for a decade already.
You've been there before the wave, and I hope now you enjoy riding it.
Congratulations!
