Get a whole load of Wadjet Eye Games adventures in this new bundle

Quoting: dibzThese games are great. If anyone is considering this, doesn't already own them, and likes old-school point and click adventure games do yourself a favor and get these. It's downright criminal how cheap the bundle is for what you're getting!

To note, not only do they have native linux versions, but WadjetEye hired the dev that did the linux ports in a post-proton world where he absolutely did not need to do that.

To note #2, ScummVM also semi-recently added the AGS interpreter -- which is what these games are made in -- to ScummVM and you can play most if not all of these games in ScummVM if you'd rather for some reason.

Primordia and Gemini Rue are some of my personal favorites for this type of game, and I pretty much always recommend them whenever Point and Clicks come up.
Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

I did not yet play all of their games, just to have something to look forward to.

But what I loved about Resonance is that you'll get to play four persons, and you can pull anything you can click into your short term memory and talk about it with anybody. So... you're not going to solve this by just clicking everything with everything. Just too many everythings. :D

3 Minutes to Midnight devs say it's going well for full Linux / Steam Deck support

Quoting: tohurUltimately this is where SteamOS will lead us.. Proper fully supported Linux ports that are not half baked and not handed off to porting houses but developed for Linux from get go. still going be some years before this is the norm but if Valve pushes SteamOS to the same heights of Steam itself thats where we are going. For now Proton is just a means to an end which is pushing SteamOS/Linux growth to the point there won't be the excuse that Linux is not a big enough market
I'm not sure about this. I'm into point and click, and I cannot remember running out of good games running natively on Linux in the last years. I think the experience is differently for other genres (like non-indie action games?) - and might stay that way?

Valve adding a Steam feature for game transfers between PCs and Steam Decks

I wanted to say that I've got no need for this as my internet access is not limited (size-wise), but then, my WiFi is probably way faster than the internet connection and I should use it...!

Steam breaks more records with 33 million online, and over 10 million gaming

Quoting: ScytaleSeriously, hats off to Valve. Honestly gained it, fair and square and not by ripping the customers and bullying them. Valve is my company of the decade. And by using Linux 24/7 I'm normally doing a lot to not depend on companies so much, but hey, not in this case.
I'm still on the fence on... are we fanboys? Or do they deserve it? Or, well, maybe just both? :)

Quoting: psycho_driverMan it's a shame Epic Games Store and all of their paid exclusives cut into Steam's market share so drastically.
That's why Steam has an all-time low I guess?
Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.
Yes, I... got it afterwards.

(Hey, to my excuse, nothing is so stupid you don't find somebody on the internet saying and believing it! ;) )

Quoting: pete910To be honest having used HDR on windows in the Past and films ect on my LG oled I cant say it's that impressive. For the most part it resembles some turning the Saturation and colours up to full.

Dare say it's a personnel preference thing at the end of the day.
What I find amusing is that the first Far Cry basically had a software version of HDR in it. So when you'd go into a cave, it'd be really dark, then it was like your eyes would adjust, then when you left a cave, it'd be really bright...
I think Fallout III did something like this when leaving the bunker vault for the first time (in your life).
Yeah, seems a few games here and there since then had similar things going on. I just remember the CryTek engine being one of the first ones to attempt to do a lot of crazy lighting things like that. Granted it'd also choke on the lava areas!
I can't remember it from other games, but I found it so suiting the situation: All your life in a vault, and then you see the sun for the first time...

Linux use overtakes macOS on the Stack Overflow Survey

As it's a developer site, I'm quite surprised this hasn't been the case years ago already. I'm at a big conservative company, and even we started to use Linux. (After 25 years of Linux usage at home and Windows usage at work, I finally get some bits of Linux at the company! :woot:)
