Quoting: GeamanduraThe name is just so idiotic. Imagine if Blender was called Open 3D Editor. Or Audacity was called Open Audio Player. No imagination, no energy to live, this comes straight from the desk of Toby from The Office. Even Vulkan which is meant for low level ubergeeks has a cool name, although it could have been called Open Multiplatform Graphics API, but they chose a name to excite people and make them interested in it and want to work with/for them. This Open 3D Engine is meant to attract corporate lawyers and handshakes and press releases like flies at the public toilet. As if Unity3D or Source Engine or Unreal Engine were particularly inspired names.

If you feel like you GOTTA grind top tier vehicles (which hardly are where most people consider the fun to be), you can instead put talismans on regular vehicle that face the same balance as everything else, and if you want to grind credits, many lower tier, very old premium vehicles that haven't had their balance touched in years are are the best ones at grinding credits anyway (the brutally cutthroat gameplay at high tiers with high repair and ammo costs is just really bad place to make credits, period). The only real reason you should ever spend $60 on a high end premium is if you have particular interest in the particular vehicle; they aren't meant to be better than other vehicles, and whenever they end up to be, it's considered a failure and majority of the community calls for the rebalance.

Quoting: inlinuxdudeAccording to the negative reviews on Steam, this is standard procedure - to bring out new premium machines that people will spend pretty good money on, then 'nerf them' a few weeks later, to do it all over again... I don't know how accurate those are, but it tells me I need to stay away from it. I don't have time or money to get involved in that kind of 'game'..If you don't want to risk paying for premiums that will depreciate in value, don't buy expensive brand new premiums, it's as simple as that

"Supported" means something else in a world of consumer software where once you make that claim, you're on the hook for making sure your paying customers are actually getting what they asked for.

Quoting: XpanderI dont expect them to support all the browsers.. all im pointing out is the wording..they say that it works only with browsers from their supported list, which to me sounds like artificial barrierThere's a difference between "we've decided from the getgo that Chrome on Windows is our singular target any anything else is unsupported" and "we've tested it on the four most popular browsers on the three most popular OSes, these are supported and anything else may not work". The first is an executive choice to artificially limit availability, the second is consequence to being able only test and validate ever so much.
Games that support linux are usually Ubuntu or SteamOS, but i dont have to fake my <insert distro> to be Ubuntu.
Its all fine if they officially support those browsers. Its logical to not cover them all.
It comes down to the wording like... "...provided the browser is in our supported list (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari)"

You might have to make the the config.blk file read only afterwards before launching the game - as it's an unsupported value, the game will try to revert it, otherwise.

Quoting: SchattenspiegelFor the Linux version it would be awesome - we might actually hope to get properly working anti aliasing then instead of fx-screenblur-aa.If your GPU can handle it, you can change the backgroundScale:r=1 parameter in config.blk to a number higher than 1 for true multisampling. My GTX1080 could handle 2x oversampling at 1920x1200 (so, downsample from 3840x2400) with still stable +60fps on otherwise generally very high or maxed settings. And it looks fantastic.
That would only leave 5.1/7.1 surround sound on my wish list then.

If you change video driver, the old cache should become invalid, get deleted and replaced.

Quoting: M@GOidI hope they keep this behavior for SteamOS, because I believe it can cause problems on a conventional distro were users are costumed in changing video drivers all the time. Why should this cause problems?

This is actually excellent. I've been curious about the game, but I wasn't sure I would get into it. I will definitely try this, and it might easily earn a purchase if it turns out worthwhile.

To me it will forever remain one of the most important stories in my life.
I feel sorry for the people who can't enjoy it.
Everyone has a different taste and it's fine to dislike what others enjoy, but I have the feeling that if you don't enjoy this one, you have to be missing something.
