X3: Reunion, X3: Albion Prelude And X3: Terran Conflict Now DRM Free On GOG
12 Nov 2015 at 3:57 pm UTC

I got X3: Reunion a while back, and it's totally unplayable with either my 360 controller or my PS2 controller. This was quite a while before refunds were available, so it's been languishing away in my Steam library ever since.

Apparently it's a known issue where it just keeps rolling to one side and only stops if you're actively holding the joystick just right, but starts immediately when you let go. I tried some workarounds, but never did get it to work right.

Isn't Canada more of the US's weird step-brother?
I think of it more like being Junior Brit Scouts.

And it'd be REALLY hard to be weirder than the US.

Same. It helps that I haven't started playing 2 yet, although I loved 1.

Grow Home From Ubisoft Looks Like It Will Come To Linux

Yes! Ubisoft is a commercial game developer. If cost of porting game to Linux < profit of Linux port then just do it.
I think one of the things that makes Ubi interesting is that they're a big company with a solid base, and as such are in a good position to look for untapped markets. A term which describes Linux well, being a developing part of the game market in itself, which is already just beginning to flourish. A bit of attention from the larger players could lead to more games in future, and more adoption of Linux on the consumer level. Which means an increase in those Steam percentages.

(*) Not.
Personally I don't care that much about the mainline Ubi games like Assassin's Creed, but I'd love to see the UbiArts stuff like Valiant Hearts and Child of Light get ported over.

Still, it's nice to see a big company like Ubi recognize our existence.

Sunday Section: What Was Your Biggest Linux Gaming Letdown So Far This Year?

Oh, and so far no word on even the possibility of a port for Undertale, even though it's relatively easy to port RPG Maker games. Only answer from the dev has basically been "maybe eventually it would be cool".

Quoting: Comandante oardoWell.. for me, Batman: Arkham Knight.. I remember It was announced for Steam Os /linux for Fall 2015 (That will be now)... And nothing happened... AND NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER DELAY!!! :><:
I'm assuming by now you've heard the news that not only is the PC (and I mean all PC platforms) Arkham Knight not going to be fixed, but they're offering refunds via Steam regardless of play time. So the delay may have actually done you a favour, saving you money on a white elephant.

I think for me it's the continued absence of Kentucky Route Zero Chapter Four, and the dawning realization that by now it's basically vapourware. Plus Divinity: Original Sin of course.

Oh, and Endless Legend giving up on their Linux port was a pretty big disappointment too. As was the idea of a port for Life Is Strange being stopped in its tracks by a poor choice of middleware (leavened by the devs saing they'll be more careful about on their next game, since they seem to really want to port their stuff).
